Don't know if anybody posted about this. But a few days ago it BBTS changed their policy so that you only have 15 days to cancel an order and also will hold your pile of loot 190 days from order date.
I don't mind the change in the pile of loot holding time. But the change to 15 days cancellation was a shocker. Also, I was miffed because there was no email sent about this change. Usually I'd pre-order with them and then cancel if I found the item in store. It wasn't like BBTS lost out, because they only give you money back in store credit. But I guess, they're tired of it and want to stop all the "abuse" of the system. Seeing as how most figures now like the eels, paraviper, etc are much cheaper at entertainment earth... I think I'm gonna start taking my business elsewhere. The reason I used BBTS was the flexibility of changing my order. I realized it probably drove them crazy... but hey... they still had my money in store credit! Anyways rant over! |

What I'm seeing on their website now is that you have 15 days to cancel items that have been paid for - not 15 days to cancel ordered items. The website is still showing that pre-orders can be canceled at any time before they are paid for. This doesn't seem like a particularly big deal to me, and you can still pre-order stuff and then cancel if you find it in the store first.
I don't see anything about the 190 days from order date on their site. Where'd you find that?

Doesn't really bother me at all. I don't preorder unless I'm going to buy.
And I don't keep my POL more then a month. I have a hard enough time holding stuff to combine shipping, I want my stuff ASAP!

I guess they got sick of me putting stuff in my PoL, waiting for it to go on clearance, then swapping it out.

Well, now that is kinda lame, Hellion.
I usually flush my PoL every month as well so that doesn't bother me. But I kinda have a hard time seeing anyone waiting the better half of a year to ship an item. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 03-17-2009 at 07:23 PM.. |

Yeah, I don't see anything about the 190 days either. And "from order date" seems unlikely as there are some things - Diamond Select Enterprise D I'm looking at you - that have been on pre order now for over 190 days let alone once it finally comes into stock sometime between now and the second coming.

Here's the link about the 190 days for pile of loot and 15 day cancel policy.
BigBadToyStore.com And yes you guys are right, I misread.... It's 15 days to cancel items paid for. Well, since I got store credit... I'm going with them for the upcoming 7-packs! |

PoL was nice for peace of mind and as a retail backup. The 15-day thing is going to change my buying habits pretty drastically. Up til now I would basically just snag what I thought I might want while the snagging was good an make up my mind later. Preorders that still applies to, but in-stock is gonna be a different story now, especially if there's a half-decent chance I'll be able to find it retail. Hunting had been fun knowing I had a backup... having a 2-week window would just have me scrambling around just like the "gotta have it NOW" folks, which, since I'm willing to let stuff sit for months, I'm obviously not among lol. My last shipment was prolly the worst when it came to over-15-days, since there was a few months' worth of "oh, that looks neat"s in there. By the time I went to ship it the economic climate, both overall and personally, had changed a bit. So out went the Encore Ratchet, Master Grade Gundam kit that was on sale but I didn't really need, and the Joe vehicles I had just snagged at HTS. Some of it went right to the next guy in line, but some of it had to be re-stocked and all that. But the refund went to store credit... and it all gets used. It's not like I'm going anywhere, lol. In the meantime, they get a few bucks in interest. And yeah, the clearance-swapping thing is kinda "lame" as you put it, but that combined with the rest of their customer-centric policies meant I VERY rarely ordered from anywhere else. I'd pay a few extra for the "hot" item knowing that somewhere down the line I'd save a few, too, even if it was just on shipping. So I guess we'll see how this all shakes out. tl;dr I'm kinda glad the Joe and TF movies will be slowing my purchases in the foreseeable future. |

So, it's 190 days from the point it enters the PoL then (i.e "purchase"), not from order date. Yeah, I can understand that honestly. They're not in the business of being an individual's storage facility and I know I've thought about how handy it would be if my closet full of stuff could be stored at their warehouse! As it is, I've had a Henkei Cyclonus in the PoL since December, hoping that a few more items will come in before it's time to ship. I guess I'll have until June or so before he'll ship automatically. |
