Hello-
I am a researcher at American University in Washington, DC looking for information about GI Joes and American children. I have created a survey designed to gather data from Americans who played with GI Joe action figures in the 1960s, 1970s, or 1980s. If you would be willing to share some of your adolescent GI Joe experiences with me, please follow the link below. Feel free to send the link to friends or family members who might also be interested in taking the survey. Feel free to contact my e-mail address at [email protected] with any questions or concerns. Survey Thanks, Josh Mattingly |

Great survey! I was getting nostalgic while answering the questions. I hope you will share your conclusions with us when you are done with the project.

Took the survey, can't wait to see the results. Helped to remind me of my childhood with my father since he is very sick and is dying now. He helped me to complete my GI Joe comic book collection and I have never let it go since then (and this was over 20 years ago).

Was it just me? Or did anyone else play with the coolest figures vs the lamest figures reguardless of which side they belonged too? I never played gi joe vs cobra. I always played snake eyes, firefly, storm shadows, hit & run, etc.. probably no more than 10-15 cool guys vs whatever was left in the toy box. Guess i was just odd like that. I remember my cousins would do the same thing, we'd grab our best guys vs each other. I guess i was fortunate to have 3 male cousins in approx age living on the same block, sometimes the battles would be 4 armies deep. I remember one time propping up the new sod in my cousins back yard with sticks, just to hide our tanks under it. lol... My uncle was pissed.. lol.
