Here's some AWE Striker goodness for you: the DPV with mounted TOW Missile.

Wolverine, perhaps? The launcher part anyway.

And here's the basis for the Wolverine/Lynx chassis, the Alvis FV-101 Scorpion, a British IFV.

Interesting. I can see why they might have used the Scorpion for inspiration, its proportions are very toy-like to begin with.

Striker (Chenowith Fast Attack Vehicle) Cobra Rattler (A-10 Thunderbolt) Cobra Night Raven (SR71 Blackbird) FANG is not based on any one vehicle, least of all the Benson. It uses actual components from real life helicopter technology such as a Fenestron tail rotor and a BMW gas turbine engine. AWE Striker may be inspired by the Army FAV with TOW, but its buggy frame is Berrian, not Chenowth. APC is more likely a VAB, Véhicule de l'Avant Blindé, but with reconfigured wheel arrangement. HAL doesn't look like anything, except maybe a Death Star tractor beam on wheels.

There's a vague resemblance, mostly just because they're both wedge-shaped tanks. The base for the Wolverine isn't from any specific vehicle, but is probably a kitbash like 90% of the vehicles from the first few years. It appears more likely that the AMX30 donated its base for the vehicle. More than just a common wedge shape, it also has the fender braces and driver hole shape (although on the other side of the hull). As part of the kitbash, the toy sculptor probably hacked 30% or 40% off the back of the hull to shorten it.

On a different note, and reversing the inspiration, I saw this tiny little plane Mwari and immediately thought of the Skyhawk, or perhaps the Mudfighter. |
