If they have, I've never heard of it.
I wonder if they think it's an issue significant enough to do anything about, or if they don't care since I would assume it's technically the store that is affected, not Hasbro. Anybody know? |

I don't think anyone's actually asked about it, but I'm sure they'd leave that up to the stores. However, there is a chance that they would change their packaging (Possibly) Hasbro did change the way the comic packs with Doc points were packaged after enough fans complained about stolen Doc points. Unfortunately, putting the comics and Doc points into a bag inside the package did come a little too late, they did try to do something at least.

Does anybody know, how do the new Target exclusive jet boxes compare with the clear plastic versions in terms of preventing repacks? I wonder if H'bro has tried to improve by changing the box type...

mark the figures and packs with dye that can be seen under a blue light or put serial numbers on the figures and packs. give instructions to the stores and make them check the packs out before a return is allowed to be made.

And the price of your figure is now $15.99, and nothing but specialty shops will carry them, because TRU, Target, and especially Wal-Mart will say "no thanks."

The window box is the best defense against repackers because you can see what's inside without opening.
Beyond that, there's nothing Hasbro can do except make it harder to get into the packages. If it's a repacked return, there is absolutely nothing Hasbro can do.

I tend to believe its a store issue, and not hasbros, although over the years things have been added to help prevent normal means of theft, like twisty ties, and bands. The biggest help against repackers is the store associates who process returns. They should take notice, and ask questions when things don't look right. As it is now, most of the associates that work at the return desk, are under payed, under staffed, and generally don't give a s^&*. And thats the biggest problem. I know if I worked at the return desk, I'd notice that crap on any return, not because i'd care anymore than any other associate, but because I'd get a blast out of starting conflict with those a-holes that try to return repacks!!!

I agree that busting repackers is a store issue and not Hasbro's. If Hasbro decided to change the packaging to prevent repackers, the cost would definitely increase and we would feel the crunch. Not to mention that repackers would simply find a different way to do what they do. It is an issue we have dealt with in the past and one we will continue to have to deal with in the future...
