With the new movie figures coming out, I 've noticed the projectial weapons. Is this the start of the end already?

Projectile weapons were not the downfall of the original line. Stupid mythos corrupting concepts (see Cobra La, and the killing off popular integral characters a la Transformers), a terrible movie based upon said concepts, neon paintjobs and a complete departure from the grounded military roots of the original '80s Joes and into some kind of sci fantasty was the downfall of the original Joe line.
Sorry, sad but true. Will it happen again? Time will tell. |

But movie line figures, more often than not, are the unwanted step child when compared to the original line. I really don't think this will affect the new 25th style figures once all the movie stuff dies down.

i'll be honest , projectiles don't bother me so much. they can be cool. but these new ones are just gigantic to say the least. they dont even look like guns. projectiles are ok, but the movie line guns are just plain out retarded!

It's only the end if you want it to be.

The real sad part about all this is that Hasbro believes (probably accurately) that if the toys don't do something eyecatching like fire whacky neon projectiles at each other, the kids will ignore them. They believe that the kids don't have the imagination that we had to pretend.

I was surprised, but I actually like the missile firing launcher from the Resolute 5-pack. I wish they made all launchers that realistic looking.
