i agree with one thing, toys are made for kids. but the cartoon was promised to be pg 13 and take part of the line into a more adult fan base. if they go back on this, i think i am done with gijoe, i'm grown up now, i'm still a fan of the 80's property, but the campiness only goes so far, the new cartoon looked so awesome, oh well. i said it once, and i'll say it again, hasbro is the enemy. and enough with the repaints and repacks!

Why dumb down? Then the younger audience would not appreciate what us veteran fans appreciate. Hell even the Sunbow episodes gave special messages to the kids, like how to stop nosebleed, how to evacuate housefire, and to stay away from live wires. Chances are this cartoon will last as long as 2002 He-Man did.

I couldn't vote on this since this isn't just some "Yes/No" question.
The problem with anything war-based was that there's always going to be some bullet-ridden casualties. Not to say that there's no such thing as a good war movie. Just "rocksalt for the birds." The 80's GI Joe franchise wasn't perfect either. With people sticking out of their vehicles and running towards enemy troopers opening fire on you; one would think that someone might catch a KIA or two. (And this is from a fan of the 80s GI Joe.) I saw the live-action Transformers movie and saw an awesome example of how it's done: Take cover, fire back, call in air support. One soldier and some civilians KIA, another soldier getting wounded... Michael Bay was AWESOME. I personally don't wish to see good soldiers get killed by gunfire. And I wish for the return of the 80s GI Joe cartoon with more live ammo and more brain usage. (I.e. taking cover during an all-out slugslinging contest.)

I would,I have no choice but to if they we're to make a dumbed down version. The problem is, I don't know if resolute is any good to begin with. I rather they make a full series geared towards children than a potencially bad mini series that's geared towards adults. A full series almost garantees more resolute figures being produced

Yes, I would accept it because killing is wrong and my child is dumb.

There are already plenty of cartoons with violence and characters dying so I'm sure why this is even an issue. Tone down the gore and bloodshed, fine, but "dumbing it down" shouldn't even be an option.

as sweet an idea, the violent Gi Joe is, (its awesome)
for some reason, i dont want to relive seeing some of my child hood icons biting the dust in a matter of momments. i mean come on. the comics were harsh enough, so many of the cool jes died, id rather see them happy an laughing with lame psa announcements and crappy roadblock rhymes then swearing and gore. hmmm...but then again maybe im crazy violent Joe would kick some mother F***in A$$!!! |
