I think the 'rare' figures are cool, special, different. I don't see why so many people have to come here and rip on them, without really even answering the question. Saying "a turd" or "would never pay for that" isn't really adding anything constructive to the conversation.

in the end, there are those who do, and there are those who don't. there's good money to be made in flipping these figs when you're bored or hard up for cash. |

I think there is a price any individual would "pay" to have that figure, and sure that could be $0 or $turd, but then there is the realistic value of the figure.
That value is a product of rarity, design/desire, and MSRP. SDCC Gold Destro is usually $150-$300 depending on condition SDCC Silver Destro is anywhere between $20-$100 SDCC CC Blue is $60-$100 SDCC CC Black is $10-$30 Rowdy Roddy Piper is anywhere from $100-$500+ (for some weird reason) Yellow Stalker is $100-$300 I'd guess. Wraith Variant is usually $40-$60 Snake Eyes w/Black Timber is worth $65 I'd guess?

you know A LOT of collectors are after the Clear Wraith. i find that interesting. "it's a variant that makes sense" - i read once on a thread. and i agree.
errors i'm not too crazy about. this realization helped me get over my urge to go after a Yellow Stalker. i had to check myself because i could have easily jeopardized my budget... and for no other reason than obsession. it's liberating to be able to part with your possessions. it's like a lesson in Zen. a handful of sand rests peacefully on an open palm... but will slip quickly as soon as you attempt to possess it. |

They are just too readily available at this point in time. I'm not bitching just sheading some light in an otherwise dark time.
