The most disappointing Joe moment was the Hub cancelling Renegades. Missed that show and sad to see it go. A missed opportunity that Flint, Baroness and that Coyote or mutton chops Roadblock were never made.:(

Lol it is tough to hate the cubs but that is a valid reason. If it makes ya feel better they still suck. Comment made my day.

The most disappointing Joe moment for me?...
Getting back into collecting G.I.Joe figures this past year and realizing that I missed out on a lot of cool items since the last ARAH figures I bought in 88.

I don't think ANYTHING has left me more disappointed as a Joe fan than the Sigma Six transition.
Some background: At the time I was in contact with a crew of people who had "inside sources" (and much of that information panned out in 2004, leading me to trust them on the stuff rumored for 2005, along with other details supporting them). So long story short, in the weeks leading up to Toy Fair 2005, I had been hearing about all this kickass new stuff (not helped by leaked retail list of Robot Rebellion first wave product) tied to the next theme: Robot Rebellion. It sounded awesome with the quality of figure design and sculpting seen from wave 4 on of Valor vs Venom, a nifty line gimmick (interchangeable parts, remnants of which can be seen on many DTC accessories and the last Overkill and BAT figures as well as the modular weapon ports featured on the DTC Vehicles), lots of fan service and an increase in support of DDP in the comic pack series (in fact, I looked up the old "Fan's Choice" selections and could EASILY cite where and when parts of the figures would appear and be reused). A new DVD feature like Valor vs Venom was written (and by the same team) and coming off 2004, the Joe brand was in fairly robust shape (while the 12" section was floundering, the 3.75 actually out performed expectations, hence why the comic packs were introduced and why Hasbro had TWO large vehicles tooled up for 2005). Then at Toy Fair...the revelation that the 8" Sigma Six series was COMPLETELY replacing both segments of the GI Joe brand. It was a change from which the brand never truly recovered from. While Sigma Six WAS a great product, the size and relatively limited scope of the line (it took almost a year before key characters like Destro and Zartan were available, and frequent flyers the Dreadnoks, Jinx, and especially Scarlett failed to get figures at all), the product had dramatically different play patterns and focus compared to the 3.75 line. And of course, the 2.5 line was a cluster-eff all the way around short of the actual design work (packaging was among the best I'd seen in recent product line, period). Sigma Six killed a LOT of the brand traction it had developed with the 2002 relaunch because a certain big retailer wasn't happy with the steady growth of the brand, they wanted "the next big thing" (And sadly and most frustrating, I still think had Hasbro utilized the 8" figures as replacements for 12" and rolled with the show in a new branding element while maintaining the 3.75, especially since 90% of what was used in the show came from Robot Rebellion anyway, Hasbro might have had those big sale upswings retailers wanted) And to those that might say NuSculpt wasn't successful and deserved to be replaced, consider this: In 2005, in the "slow period", everyone EXCEPT Walmart expanded their Joe section (killing 12", btw) and supported- A core figure assortment (2 packs MSRP at $7.99, thereabouts) A "deluxe figure" assortment (Figure and small vehicle, same price as figure packs) An Alpha vehicle assortment ($10) A collector oriented comic pack assortment ($10) A bravo vehicle assortment ($15) And MULTIPLE items in a $30-35 assortment (with Hasbro even planning on a SECOND high cost pricepoint for 2005, the ROCC) Today we struggle keeping a single figure assortment and ONE vehicle assortment (and not even a very expensive one) on shelves at all

For me it was spotting the Sgt. Savage figures on the shelf for the first time. G.I. Joe at the time had been a neon nightmare so seeing figures that were actually wearing green and looked like soldiers was a dream come true, then i realized the awful truth . . .they were in 5 inch scale and wouldn't work with all the other Joes.

On a related--but not so related--note, my worst action figure experience was when I was playing with the big-headed '78 (I think) Han Solo from New Hope. He was up on the lamp, spying on Darth Vader and his troops. Suddenly something smelled funny... Sadly, by the time I realized, Han Solo was a melted blob down to the waist. NEVER saw that figure again in the stores; heaven knows my mom tried. But it's all better now. Thanks to Feebay, I have a big-headed Han Solo once again, re-carded by some fellow who knew what he was doing.
