I was wondering what happened to that thread. The powers that be eliminated it I see. But as I said in the invisible thread...if it is an issue with said vendor not providing the goods, get a refund via PayPal and don't wait until that option is not available anymore, simple as that.
I think that covers the majority of the people, they paid honest money and expect and honest return. 99% of the people are willing to cut the outfits SOME slack, but when it stretches to half a year.. a year.. etc it stretches the limits of credulity.

I agree. As a caster who ships 99.9% of my orders within 24 hours, never sends a defect and has a 100% customer satisfaction rate, I hate being lumped in with other shops that don't ship for 5 months, or send out inferior product, or just plain rip people off. Unfortunately, those shops are the only ones that people really know about, and that scares people from ordering products from places like mine.

Probably wouldn't work. I've tried to post here about sales that I run for my store, and every time I did it was deleted, and I was told that only site sponsors can post things like that. Apparently management feels it's more important to make the money than it is to protect their forum members, or show them where the deals are if you're not a sponsor.
Again, see above.

Glad you posted this. I had posted a request for help in getting in touch with JoeParts.com, because the contact info they have provided via their website and on their business card is a black hole.
I ordered over $100 worth of vintage merch from them, two of the items weren't "as described" and I wanted to reach a resolution with them. The thread was deleted. I didn't even come close to disparaging anyone. Seemed odd, to me. And my issue remains unresolved. So at the least, I'd like to be able to warn my fellow Tankers to use some buyer beware with that vendor. |

In a way, I can understand why the site doesn't want that information posted here. They have nothing to do with anyone that purchases something from an outside retailer (even if it's a sponsor) and by having a thread about such things, it might give someone the idea that HISSTank will help you get your money back or be responsible when things don't go right.
At the same time, I think that something like this can only HELP on a community level, so that if 3 out of 5 people have a bad experience with a retailer, then people should probably know enough to steer clear of that store or website.

With a customer service thread with a thread dedicated to each person representing themselves as a business, we would know that we have a LOT more options and we would know more about those options. It only seems to make sense to me. I am just starting out in doing real customs. We have so many wonderful resources regarding how to do our custom works, it seems like we could use this as another positive resource. The only thing I would ask readers of this thread is please don't post about suppliers you have issues with on here. By keeping this topic neutral, we may keep it alive.

Well as I've already mentioned, I've tried to bring some attention to my shop, by posting about sales that I have or things like that. I often do a % off, or a B4G1 like I did for StarWarsDay on May 4th, but I stopped posting about it here because it just keeps getting deleted. I agree that having a place where people can post about stores that ARE customer friendly and ARE good places to shop would only help the community, not hurt it.

I've purchased from a variety of vendors, and it would have been great to know before I sent my money out the door, who to expect delays from, who doesn't return emails, etc.
Could have saved a lot of headaches. I dealt with one caster who should be dubbed as "He who must not be named" just because of the dark magic that causes threads to be closed quicker than you can say Abracadabra, but it took nearly 14 months for him to fix $12.00 worth of mistakes. Sure it wasn't much money from his stand point (a couple of pieces) but to me it's the idea that I paid for something and was ignored for a year. Being able to post that experience regardless of it being a negative or a postive experience would have went along way with helping others. Sure the bad sellers / trader's thread exists, but even with searching the thread you can have a hard time seeing a pattern of behavior. |
