Well... Wondercon '09 hit this weekend in San Francisco, Ca. We went down for the day and had a great time seeing all the product, artists, and costumes. There were only a handful of Joe costumes... a few Cobra Commanders...
... a few Cobra Troopers, a Scarlett, a Cover Girl, and a Flint with Lady Jaye on his arm. Surprisingly though... not one Snake Eyes walking the floor. But I was cool with that... the real deal was signing autographs right around the corner. For me, he even signed a fig for my collection. "To Joe... Knowing is half the battle... Ray Park... Snake Eyes" Today was a good day. |

Nice! I've met David Prowse, Temeura Morrison, Peter Mayhew(and I sort of met Mark Hamill twice) and caught glimpses of other SW celebs at SDCC but would probably make a mess in my pants if I met Ray Park. Temeura Morrison is really outgoing and was a real pleasure to meet. If only Mark Hamill was as cool with his fans (douche).

Awesome! I've spoken with the man on several occasions, and the last time he signed my black-wolf Snake Eyes for me. A cool dude, and a big fan of the franchise as well...

That's a shame. He was there... but I couldn't see spending the $100 he wanted for a pic and autograph. Also on hand were Carrie Fisher, Daniel Logan, and Matt Wood.

I met him once during the star wars heyday, he's shorter in person isn't he?
You'd expect him to be just a tad taller. But he's not. |

It's great to hear that he's an actual fan of the franchise and not some leech - i.e. Brendan Frasier

Too bad 90% of Snake Eyes will probably be CGI instead of Park.

I wouldn't think so... I'm sure the fight scenes will be pure Park. Well... unless they go all 'Blade II' and have a bunch of un-necessary jumping about :p But I don't see that happening. Why use him if they're not going to display what he can do? Heck, even as Toad he was wielding weaponry and kickin' butt I think we'll see more 'real' Park than you think. |
