As a new guy to Hisstank (not new to the world, I am 40plus), I hope you all don't mind my jumping in, may have missed a few commens that say the same thing.
I am a retired USMC officer, and yes, I have no counterpart on the joe team. Sad. Who do I get to be when I grow up? Anyway. GI Joe is a joint task force or joint command. They would have a staff with all the various staff functions (XO or Chief of Staff would be 2nd in command, Ops officer and ops chief, intell officer and intell chief, comm, finance, logistics, supply, personnel.) plus various cats and dogs-medical officer, staff JAG, chaplain, engineer officer, air officer etc. Instead of an air officer, you might have them labeled as air component commander, air liason, or squadron detachment commander. I could ramble on. I would be inclined to maybe make Ace the det commander, with one of the older guys as the air officer. Keel Haul obviously as the naval forces commander and skipper of the flag, but he could also be the air component commander as a naval aviator. |

Well I would love to hear your thoughts Hardcorps. Darkhawk has made room for certain high level officers in his command structure. Sadly the Joes are missing Marine Officers. I use Major Gen Sharpe as my highest ranking Marine Officer. Then Brig Gen Roughshot (Bronze Bombers). Col. Eagle (blonde Hawk). Lt. Col Loose Cannon. Major Stone (GI Joe Extreme)

Hi Hardcorps, welcome to the 'Tank.
I echo yours and Loose's sentiments about a lack of Marine Corps officers. You also bring up a very good point about a distinct lack of Ops and Control staff, although if the Joes were a real team, they'd need a large support staff of armorers, riggers, mechanics and clerks to function properly. This is something we've discussed ad nauseum in another thread http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...tml#post466934 It's been going for awhile but we're always happy to rehash stuff. |

Darkhawk, I see you are using the ICE Sabre (aka ICE Dagger). Im having a problem with being able to use it with my Joe forces. In my mind the Ice Sabre is engaged with a vehicle like the Cobra HISS tank in the snow. During the retreat, cobra reaches an area where there isnt any snow. Is the chase over? Im thinking it isnt a very reliable vehicle if it cant use the skis. Can it be used with mud or the desert? Can the skis retract and be able to "drive" like a tank? Maybe I need a new perspective for this vehicle. What is everyones take on this vehicle?

Payload would be my Air Wing Commander ( I have no Space Joes as Astronauts.) but I have them somewhat distributed with different units.
SkyStriker, Ace, Ghostrider, Slipstream, Dogfight, Air-Raid, Spaceshot, Moondancer, and a couple more customs make up the Joe Airforce I have Countdown as an Air Liason officer who roles with SkyPatrol. If they are under Keel Haul's command then he is in charge, but I need to restructure my teams into a more plausible set up rather than distribute all member evenly into 7 teams.

You see, I have Slipstream rolling with Sky Patrol as an Air Laiason Officer. Because of his Civil Air Patrol Cadet "service" during high school. Training in search & rescue, map reading, rank, radio & flag etiquette, first aid, basic flight characteristics, etc. That training would have been a bonus for an Air Laiason Officer. All cadets get training in those fields. Only a select few cadet officers in a particular Squadron or Flight learn how to fly and I consider Slipstream was one of them. My Flight, we were more geared for Search & Rescue. Tho for promotions, we were rewarded by receiving a ride in a Cessna 172 "Skyhawk".
Also, wasnt Slipstream introduced as an "Executive Officer" or "Adjutant" of some sort in the arah marvel comics? A more boots on the ground type of Air Force Officer even in the mid 80's.
