I've developed a rule for myself.
When I go to the toy store I don't buy multiples of the same figure so maybe the next guy can get one. I also shuffle rare figures collectors would find desireable to the front so the next guy won't have to go looking for them. I bought 1 EEL and 1 Elite Viper at Target the other day and shuffled Helix, Flash and Hawk to the front so the next collector wouldn't have to look behind anyone. Does anyone else have simmilar rituals? |

Everytime I go toy-hunting I quickly write on a batch of small Post-It stickies "HissTank.com - Sightings Thread." And keep them in my wallet.
If I find a rare figure I already have, I bring that rare figure to the front of the peg, and put a Post-It sticky "HissTank.com Sightings Thread" to show that twice-lucky person where to find more figures --- our Sightings threads. If I go home empty-handed at least I know I brought into our Tank a new member who can help us and we help him or her. This is a great way to find fellow collectors with our shared interests nearby. Congratulations for the nice gesture pal. I buy all my stuff online (I'm in Argentina) so I can't do this but I definitely would if possible.

I buy a lot online and rarely actualy find stuff at retail.
But when I do, that's what I do. When I come back the next time sometimes they're still there. I was surprised to see the DCUIH Questions I found at 5 Below still there a month later. |

Screw that, I'm a greedy bastard with armies to build.

I do a similar thing unless the pegs are ridiculously well stocked. (and how often is that?) Even doing so, I've been able to build some pretty decent amount of troops.

Does anyone else have simmilar rituals? Seriously though, I only buy 1 of each due to budget and I'm not really a customizer or army builder. I do, however, put the good figures up front as you. I never really gave it a second thought. I guess I was really thinking of the kids. Sometimes they won't be able to reach the higher and deeper figures. If I'm in a rush I don't really bother. |

Exactly! I didn't have this kind of disposable income when I was a kid so now I get to have the armies I could never have back then. Tell you what though, if I ever see a GI Joe toy on the shelf that I don't want, like most of the ROC stuff, I promise to leave it on the shelf or peg for the next person who comes along. Sound like a deal?

I'm OCD with shuffling the best stuff to the front.
It sucks buying something online and then seeing it at retail. I saw those Secret Wars 2 packs at retail a day before the package showed up. |
