my wife just bought me a ghost hawk that was missing lift ticket, at a discounted price ofcourse.
what it boils down to is, retailers don't care what gets returned unless it's in utter disarray. as much of shame as it is, they simply recycle the product back on the shelf for someone else to mistakenly purchase or buy at a discount.

On the one hand, I agree with you. On the other hand...it's the cheapest place to shop. For many people, it's the only place they can afford to shop. I can't really find it in me to condemn Wal-Mart shoppers. Hell, I shop at Wal-Mart sometimes. I feel bad about it, and if I knew I could afford it, sure, I'd shop only at Trader Joe's or some local co-op...but I can't. And it isn't as though the other chains offer a guilt free alternative, either.

I used to mix paint at my job, and some people would try returning paint for a refund, but the cans would be filled with water instead.

i think many impose political and social statements to things when for most it's really very simple. MANY people shop at walmart simply due to economic realities, nothing more, nothing less. lets not put upon some for the sheer necessity to be frugal. would i like a firehook latte, sure. i end up at 7-11 buying the stuff they pass off as coffee at times.

Where else can I get a tin of sardines, toilet paper, a can of paint, light bulbs, a head of lettuce, pickled artichoke hearts, fishing line, tube socks, blue jeans, detergent, shaving cream, bug spray, record player, Steely Dan's greatest hits, Cat food, aquarium rocks, Punisher t-shirt, ear plugs, eye glass repair kit, Rocky 1,2 and 3, Tampons, chees-its, neosporen, Ramen noodles, mop head, urinal cakes, batteries, cell phone, Jumper cabels, funonions, jump rope, and ground beef, at 4 am on Sunday? I can't say it's all without a little guilt though. |

HAPPY STORY!!!
just THREE DAYS AGO in nashville,tn i was at a target returning something. i was stuck behind a guy and i noticed he was returning the 80s best of set and destro/IG comic pack. well i STILL have not seen a best of set so i was pretty anxious when he returned it. well then i noticed WHAT he was REALLY he was returning. there was a CC in the IG place and there was a mess of JvC figures in the best of pack. i was FURIOUS!!! nerd rage filled my veins but i hatched a plan rather than beat him senseless. i calmly waited for him to start making his return. as he started to tell his bogus story of "he had no idea when he bought them his kid already had these". she was about to ring him though since he wanted a refund and i stepped in and said "ma'am this guy is lying to you. look at the package. the picture on the comic pack doesnt match up. and if you notice this box set none of these figures belong in here. they dont even fit in the bubble. this set is sought after and he took out what he wanted and was going to give back unsellable crap in a box." the guy went WHITE. he started to stammer and said stay out of his business. he said i didnt know what i was saying and this is how they were when he bought them. the odd thing i acutally was WEARING a shirt that said G.I.JOE emblazoned on my chest so i unzipped my hoodie and he went even WHITER and she just laughed. it was like a superhero reveal moment for me!!! i said "Ma'am i KNOW what this set is supposed to look like since i have driven all over this town looking for one." (by this time a team leader came over to see what was proceeding) he just stammered. they already had all his info. they had his DL and everything. she told him she is calling store security. he tried to grab his card and threatened to sue for harassment and false charges if security came. i said go right ahead since then you'll have to explain why this boxset has 6 yr old figures in it and why the comic pack is "mysteriously" also screwed up. he told the cashier to give him back his stuff and he won't be shopping here anymore. she wouldnt give him back his stuff saying that they were confiscating everything until the authorities then got there since this is not escalating into a criminal matter. i just had to re-iterate/go over my initial statement today. i got a 50$ gift card from that store as well!!!(now if only i could find that damn best of 80s pack). the really great thing is i have seen a RASH of repackaged joe toys in the last year around here so i really hope he was the main person(hopefully the only) doing it. he isn't allowed into ANY target for a 1-2 years. he can't return anything EVER to target either. ahhhhh sweet sweet nerd justice |

Nerd justice.
It's how we roll. Very nice. Think it's bad now? Wait to the TF Rattlers start showing up. I found one today, and I realized the box looked funky. I asked the associate if I could open it to make sure it had all of it's parts and what do ya know? Inside was a beat up, vintage TF Rattler, complete with broken landing gear, missing parts etc. I looked at the associate and said, "No thanks." I explained that is was a vintage Tiger Rat and he said they would watch out for it. I HATE repackers.
