The wife has a bigger problem w/ the Xbox because, so far, the joes haven't cut into cuddle time...yet.
She understands why I do it, but anytime she's at the store and I ask her to take a peek in the toy aisle for me, she just responds that she wouldn't know what to look for and that's the end of it. It helps that, in addition to the joint account that pays the bills, we maintain separate accounts that we are free to spend our money on whatever the hell we want. Overall, I think she's just happy that I will ALWAYS go w/ her to Target and Walmart now. |

Anytime my wife is @ Target/Wal*Mart w/o me, she calls me from the toy section to ask me if there is anything I'm currently looking for. If she finds something I want she usually buys it for me w/o any hesitation.
The flip side to this is that when we're out shopping together and I find something, I get that look when I walk around the store w/ said item in hand. Yeah, I don't get it either. Most of the time she's OK w/ my various collections...

My wife thinks my hobby is "cute." I think she's just glad I have a hobby that doesn't interfere with our together time. She might be sad if I spent time away from her to play golf or go fishing or something.

My girlfriend barely tollerates the hobby. I have to hide recent purcheses and open them when she is not home. She thinks they take up too much space, money, & time. She does not understand my pashon for collecting & customizing. Probly brcause she is Russian. They only had like 3 TV channels when she was young, their cartoons sucked, & there were no toys to buy. She went back last year and brought me back a bootleg spider-man. That's all she could find in St Petersberg and she got it from a street cart vendor.
It is nice to hear that a lot of you guys out there have loved -ones that support the hobby. |

I "think" she's ok with it
As long as I don't take time away from our young daughter and her. Money is tight, so I'm selling off some stuff I no longer use around the house. IE other hobbies like die cast cars etc. I just started up collecting after so many years. I only found out about the new GI Joes after seeing a thread on a car forum of all places! |

Actually, if you guys want to debate, the real debate. Let's see who's mother-in-law supports what you do. Mine absolutely does NOT! My parents think it's funny that they still buy me "toys" for Christmas...I asked for and received the 13" DC Direct Batgirl Figure!! Mr. Savage |

My wife won't let me open my 25th "Joes", not until we have kids. "What if we have girls? They'll hate me for not buying them Barbies."
She did get me the Joe 5 Pack for Christmas...though she didn't put much thought into wrapping it differently...I figured that one out right away. |

My mother and father in law love the fact that i am collecting these for their grandchild. As for my wife, she is coming around. At first she wasn't crazy about it but now she comes with me and even looks for me when she is out...
