Ditto JA77! Especially when my wife is very frugal herself. You single guys have it good from a collecting standpoint. Stil, I prefer marital harmony over Joe any day of the week.
I do not plan to buy the movie toys. I will wait to see them in stores before I make my final decision.
I agree with the posters who say the movie packaging does not mix well with our 25th/Modern line.

Before I start, your room looks great. Now then,
I say to pick and choose with the new Movie line.
Some of the figures look great, some fall flat of expectations.
I see you look to have been a compleatist thus far of the 25th.
I would say to you to buy what you like, don't limit yourself to just figures. If you likw 1 or 2 vehicles get them.
The pitt will make a excellent display for your figures.
Who knows we all may end up enjoying the movie and the new figures will remind us of that.
Or maybe not , alot of people here seem too stuck in their childhood to except anything but the original cartoon.

my recommendation, like others have said, would be to get them if you like them. there have been lots of stuff lately that haven't been directly from the original line: Matt Trakker, Arctic and Desert 7-packs, Night Watch, Para-Vipers, etc. so, if you bought them, i don't see a lot of difference between that and movie figure buying. heck, most of the movie figures at least have the same names as the originals.
maybe wait a little while until they go on clearance for $1 like the Indy figures. save some cash AND sate your Joe-lust!

Do you like what you see? If so, get them. But if you see the movie later on, that might have an influence in your decision.

I told my wife the other day that it's gonna get expensive this year because of the Joes and the TF's coming out. I told her I need 100.00 for Devastator that's coming out for the movie and her reaction was "UH HUH" in a low tone voice. I know what it means.. It means "Go get it, and hide it and make sure she doesn't see it". As long as the bills are paid and everyone is happy, I can get what I want. As soon as the wheels fall off that bus, then I am in trouble.

I for one don't plan on buying much of the movie line. i just do not likethem. I am not buying the pit. I just don't like it. But I haven't bought all the 25th stuff either. Most of it, but not all. I do not care for the Python Patrol figures. Not interested in the Extreme Conditions Desert Set. Didn't buy the Shark or Firebat. I buy what I like and can afford.

Instead of giving advice, I'll tell you how I draw the line. For money and space reasons, I'm 100% out with the movie figs and vehicles. I'm like this with TF also. For example, the Terra-viper and Blackout (the Deception helicopter) do look pretty cool, and I want them, but I don't have the money or space to buy everything I want, so these guys get dropped. I mentally wrestled with it for awhile, but I'm fine with them not being in my collection.

I wouldnt get crazy with the movie stuff if you are in for the nostalgia. My plan is to wait for the armadillo with thunder to go on clearance and buy that just for thunder... I might get the motor viper and customize him for a more accurate look.
