I've always said, as a collector, you set your own price. Everyone has their own internal "worth" of an object. It could be market price, it could be lower, it could be higher, it's up to the individual.
I could pay for something way over market and still be happy because I felt the item was worth it.
For vintage Joes, I have a rough number that I will not go over, no matter what, for the individual figures because I feel they aren't worth over that number, even if the market price says they are.
And for some items, I'd probably go over the market price just to get my hands on it because I want it that bad.
