I just saw a contest for a fan designed character at Hasbro's Transformers web site as a part of the celebration of Transformers' 30th anniversary.
Does anyone know if Hasbro has hinted at any plans for events that celebrate GI Joe's 50th anniversary next year? |

I haven't heard of anything. You'd think if it existed, something like that would be spotlighted here. That's cool they're doing it for TF, I guess.

Talked about at Con, but no hints. I'd be real disappointed if Hasbro didn't do something.

Since hasbro is clueless and they just laid off their staff recently.
Why don't we as a community do a business proposal for them so they know exactly what we want For the 50th anniversary, do a real 50 for 50 5 waves of figures ( can be a blend of the ultimate stuff and concept stuff ). Each wave with 10 new figures and 2 army builder duplicates for a total of 12 per box Wave 1 ( from concept vault sculpts ) Footloose Gung ho flint Lady jaye Camo Ss Heat viper x2 Crimson guard immortal x2 Ultimate snake eyes v 187 Ravens wing Baroness Wave 2 Laser viper x2 Data viper x2 Cc Zartan Roadblock Scrap iron Duke The tall air Joe behind the hockey mask guy in last years vault The cobra w the swirly mask at last years vault Ultimate dial tone Wave 3 Tele viper x2 Eel x2 Ss scarlet Shipwreck navy shirt Beachhead Echo faction trooper x2 Hit & run ultimate falcon Wave 4 Hiss driver Black crimson guard x2 Snow serpent x2 Cobra stinger driver x2 Steel brigade v2. X2 Ultimate doc Ultimate mainframe Ultimate cover girl Wave 5 ( zombie wave?? ) I know it's wishful thinking but why not help hasbro plan it out? Tell them what us joe nerds want |

I hate to break it to you, but if Hasbro has any special plans for the 50th Anniversary, they're already pretty much locked-in, or at the very least have a few different options mapped out dependent on how well Retaliation product does.
Also, not gonna get much attention paid to you when you start your "business proposal" with "Hasbro is clueless" and just assume that retailers (who Hasbro has no control over and yet is completely dependent upon) are going to bend over backwards to accommodate this proposal. Retailers weren't even keen enough on the line to get the full "30 for 30" out onto shelves, but they're going to do "50 for 50?" Lol, I say. Last edited by Jmacq1; 04-18-2013 at 06:58 AM.. |
