Hello all, I've been a member of the tank for a while and I've posted a few times but usually I just read the threads. I wanted to share what happened to me at Wal-Mart over the past few days and get your opinions. I'll try to be brief.
Before Christmas my locacl Wal-mart had about 20 BMF's(millenium falcons) for $99 each. I was waiting until after christmas to pick one up on clearance. Shortly after christmas the Falcon's literally disappeared overnight. There wasn't any to be found and everyone I asked did not know what happened to them. This past weekend the Falcon's reappeared for $64 each. I picked one up at that price. After this I read that some Wal-marts had them marked down to $35. I returned and asked a manager if the price would be reduced or if I could get a discount (I've done this before and it worked). I wanted to pick up some more for trades. I was told that the price was set and they would not be further reduced. Yesterday I returned to Wal-Mart and the Falcon's (about 10 of them) had disappeared again. I asked what happened and the toy dept. person was surprised that they were gone and said that undoubtedly they had been marked down further for that many to have disappeared in that short amount of time. She said that if i could find her the UPC that she would be able to tell me what had happened and if indeed they had been marked down further. What I want to ask you guys is this: would you go back with UPC and find out for certain or would you just let it go? I can live with the fact that I missed buying a few more for $64, but if they were reduced more than that, especially after I asked, then I would be pretty ticked off about that. So what do you think? keep investigating or let it go? |

stores don't price match there clearance prices. the best you could do is return the one you got and buy it again at the lower price if they had more. so, you did not get screwed.
with that in mind, let it go. what does it matter how many Wal Mart sold at a lower price than you got? they're gone. it's over. you aren't entitled to a lower price. there's nothing to investigate and there is nothing to be ticked off about. |

64 is a great price dude. I would not have messed with it after that. I happily paid 99 for mine. I say just let it go and be happy you got that Falcon. By the way, what part of NC?

What 'slinger said. I couldn't find any in my area when they dropped to 99, let alone the ridiculous 64 or insane 35.
Same thing happened with the UBP at target. Someone said it hit 15 but I was thrilled to find them at 34. You saved some money got a cool toy. |

why bicker over toys and money? quite rediculous. walmart has too many items in one store alone for an employee to actually care about checking past or future prices.

Walmart won't reduce the price for upcoming clearances. If you bought it at $65, you keep it at $65.

It's totally within the realm of possibility that the Store Director knew they were going to be marked down again and (for whatever reason) told you the price was set. But by no means were you "screwed". A measly 64 bucks for a toy that retailed for around 150 dollars? You got a deal no matter how you look at it...
