This is the correct pronunciation. They explained it in the letter column of one of the Marvel Joe issues, but I forgot which one. (see how handy I can be?)

In Japanese, the vowels are A I U E O, and they sound "ah" "ee" "oo" "eh" "ohh".
Arashikage = Ah rah she kah geh The e is soft, sounding like eh. It's like the beginning eh sound when you say "egg". The i is pronounced like the English E, as in "he" or "me". Ideally in normal speaking there isn't any intonation, so the entire name should be pronounced without stress. Note, the r in Japanese kinda sounds like a soft "D". Sometimes while listening to native speakers it may also sound like a soft "L" (eventhough they don't have L), or a combination of "D" and "L"--especially when a native speaker is saying "r" several times rapidly. By default treat it like a soft D. Don't pronouce it ever like the English R as in Robert. That hard R doesn't exist in Japanese. When I pronounce this family name, it sounds like "ahrah-she-kah-geh" with the r having a slight d-ish sound. That might sound odd, but for English speakers that's the best way to approach the "r" when you see Japanese in "romanji" (romanized Japanese). I hope this helps!
