Real world: Lifeline. He's a para rescue medic with knowledge just short of an M.D. and he was trained as part of the elite Air Force PJ program, while Doc was a lowly Army Medic before brig recruited. Easy Choice

Lifeline.
And in my Joeverse, he gave up that pacifist stance after Doc got wasted by that SAW Viper. From now on, he packs a pistol in the field and isn't more than an arm's length from a rifle to defend his patient. Like any other specfor medic. |

I voted lifeline just for the gear he packs now. Doc is a great character - don't get me wrong. But I am a sucker for a ton of gear lifelines medic case with IVs and O2 canisters do it for me

Doc was an awesome character on Sunbow and will always be #1 to me. It's close though because Lifeline provides soooo much unintentional comedy! He won't use a (non lethal) gun or accept gifts from smoking hot, rich cartoon chicks?! Oh Lifeline...

i always liked them both, and agree with the doc at hg, and lifeline in the field, but when it comes down to it, doc for sure, just cause he was the original.

Doc. Simply because Lifeline wears RED. Who wears red on a battlefield? The bright colored Joes was the nail in the coffin for me. Plus, if you're a pacifist, why on earth would you join the military?

I am laughing that I got pulled into this debate. I voted Doc because his figure was modern for the time of it's debut but, traditional and reminiscent of the Vietnam era at the same time. His figure satisfied criteria for both.
Like others who posted earlier, I agree that Doc and Lifeline had entirely different but, equally indispensable roles in the unit. Both had neat figures and gear. Both were persons of character and would have made good, reliable friends. |

In my Joe verse, Doc remains at the base while Lifeline is out in the field. Doc takes care of research, surgeries, etc. Also, Lifeline is no pacifist and has no qualms about unloading a clip into anyone on the battlefield standing between him and those he is trying to rescue and patch up.
But both of them are important to the team.
