I swapped a fat kid at school a week's lunches to get his GIJoe Havoc.

Not sure I ever really made any dumb Joe trades, although back in Jr High or Highschool (probably 98/99 time frame) I sold a handful of figures probably ten or so that I didn't figure were anything good on ebay such as a Heavy Metal, Duke and TF Duke. If I remember right I got around $30 for all of them. I also sold my near complete Tomahawk on ebay and got around $65 for it which I thought was a good deal back then! Looking back that is really the only piece I wish I hadn't sold.

On another note I did save a couple Joes in highschool. I remember the kid that had the locker next to me had a Baroness and Maggot Driver thrown in the bottom of this locker from an English project he used them in. Every time he opened his locker they would fall on the floor with a bunch of papers and I am sure they would have ended up in the trash, so one afternoon I "rescued" them.

I remember trading some dumb stuff FOR Joes. I traded a Tyco racetrack for Quick Kick, 85 Snake Eyes and a mail in Skyhawk.

I also traded a bunch of my dad's Playboys ( I dug out of the trash after he cleaned house ) for Transformers. Got Tracks, Grimlock, Red Alert, and a bunch of mini-bots that way. I was offered some nib mail awway pac rats, but I ran out of Playboys. (later that year, my friend, a "latchkey kid" who was always home first to check the mail, discovered the magic of money orders and subscription cards...)
I also used some figures for school dioramas, but it was only Bespin Luke. It was for a bookreport. Don't remember the book, but it was similar to Total Recall. It may have even been, "We Can Remember it for You Wholesale" I honestly don't remember. Sure enough, the figure was missing from my diorama within a day.

I never traded any of my Joes, but I traded a couple of times with a buddy for Joes. In '82, when the OG13 came out, I had Flash, SE, and Scarlett. My buddy had all the figs and vehicles, plus a few extra at that point (it was just after his birthday). He wanted my Scarlett badly, but I wouldn't trade her. Eventually, I traded a bunch of Star Wars stuff for Stalker, Breaker, Grunt, and Rock 'n' Roll. Several years later, I traded a couple of small Transformers for Lifeline, who was hard to find around here. No hard feelings between either of us though-we've been friends for over 30 years.

I traded some baseball cards for Joes. While this might not sound bad, this kid wasn't really nice, and I don't know what any of my cards may have been worth. For all I know he could have taken me for a real ride. I also let him look over the cards overnight without counting them before hand, so it's possible he boosted a few. Stupid? Maybe, but I didn't care for sports or baseball cards so I didn't think much of it.

The figures weren't all that great, most of them were missing their weapons AND had broken thumbs.

But at the time....I was happy with it.

Didn't traded my Joes but I did trade with a friend my Soundwave for his Megatron of which my brother later broke the chest piece off.

I traded a few of my Joes for Transformers. Nothing major to say except that the Joes where complete and the Transformers where not.

I can't recall any specifics, but I used to proctor trades with my classmates in grade school for Joes, Transformers, GPK, M.U.S.C.L.E. men, etc. I remember always remembering to bring in my agreed upon trade item and excitedly hoping the other party would, in turn, not forget theirs. Even at a very young age, I disliked unreliability, but I digress. In any event, I think that's why I enjoy "trading" on these boards so much. It brings me back to those days as a youth, associated emotions and all.

I can't recall any bad trades, but I think I got a good deal when I traded my Sci-Fi for a pal's Iceberg. Iceberg was a much cooler figure, and Sci-Fi's was a big eyesore. Not sure why I bought him in the first place. Plus, I still had a perfectly fine Flash figure, and thought "how many laser guys do GI Joe need?"

I much more regret the tiny "Joe Massacre" stage I went through Slugger and a few figures were unceremoniously sacrificed by way of lighter fliud, cigarette lighter, and firecrackers.
