That's a damn good game, though. One of my all-time favorites!

I traded my sky striker for a night raven. But months later the kids mom made us trade back. I still have my original striker. And 3 ravens now

By Jr. High School, I wasn't playing with figures anymore and my interests and attitudes were changing. I still had all of my toys though, I took them out occasionally, sometimes I set them up and anytime I was in a store that carried figures I would browse the the isles. I rarely bought one though.
My neighbor, Robbie, who was my age had stopped playing with his toys too and had no interest in keeping them. For him, that summer before Jr. High, cigarettes and a new gel spiked hair cut had replaced Joes. Robbie would buy or trade cigarettes from the older kids or steal them from his dad, since he couldn't find a store that would sell to an underage kid. My Dad was a smoker too- and it occurred to me once, as we walked along and Robbie told me he was out of cigarettes, that my dad had a few cartons stocked at our house... For the next week, Robbie and I traded cigarettes for Joes- until he ran out of figures. I ended up with 10 or 15 new Joes, most of them were characters I didn't have- like drivers that were harder to get because they were not sold as single carded figures, and a few others were doubles for troop building. While they didn't get much play, I was happy to own them and have them in my collection. So, that was Robbie's worst Joe trade as a dumb kid.. |

Mine wasnt a trade, but still pretty dumb. I sold ALL my Joes (100 figures and 40 vehicles) for about 150 bucks in 1993.

I traded all my vintage Joes and Cobras, playsets and vehicles for $200. That was back in 1991. I regret that bigtime!

I had Joes that I took to school and buried in the sandpit during recess every day. Python Viper, Scrap Iron, and my only Strato-Viper all suffered the same fate when we got recalled into the school due to a tornado warning and when I went out there after school, they were gone. I also left an entire box of army builders in the basement of my parents house when I left for Califorina for the summer to visit my grandparents. When I came back, my parent had moved and did not find the box in the basement.

Mine wasn’t a trade either….but in the 8th grade (early 90’s) I would use my Joes to make dioramas for reading class in school. You would either have to write a paper or create a diorama….I sucked at writing so I made some kick ass diorama in old shoe boxes. I remember doing one for Dante’s Inferno and using the “Night Landing” boat and 84 Storm Shadow ( I used him as a good angel since he was white). I did a few and the teacher put them on display…..which meant the other kids stole the guys just to have something to throw around in school. At the time, I can remember not caring….I even remember seeing one of my Joes (Duke) being kicked in the hallway and hit my foot…and I didn’t even bother to pick him up. I probably lost about 20 Joes because of this!!
