Says who? Says you? And you are? Again, says who? You? What quantity is acceptable and why do you get to decide? Guess what? If I want 2,000, then I will buy 2,000. Sorry |

Anyway yes when I worked at TRU I would hold something until lunch or after work. However you needed manager approval first. And yes I checked before I held anything. Also I use to take customer names and numbers if we didn't have something in stock. When I unloaded the truck if it was there I would call them. So I always thought it was cool when you helped a kid get something he wanted. eek, i would never advocate the firing on an employee over stashing figures. thats just silly. stealing them is one thing but stashing them is not even close to as serious as an offense. does it make it hard for the typ collector to find them sure, but i would never advocate their temination for doing it, thats a bit extreme. Hey I got no problem helping people out if I can. I look at it this way. Yes I admit I'm a little frustrated that I can't find any newer figures. For those of you lucky enough to get the new waves awesome and congrats. If someone wants to buy 10 or 2,000 Cobra Troopers more power to you. It's none of my business. I'll get them at some point either through trades, stores and ebay...and now through pre-orders . Bottom line you've got scalpers, employees hiding stuff and other collectors. It's the joys of the hobby. Something I read on another site "If you don't like the price then move along"
Now if you'll all excuse me I've got a $50 Wal-Mart gift card courtesy of Wal-Mart. |

I'm actually thinking of getting some of those 12 inch Joes that Wal-Mart has for $9.99. They are the fuzz heads remakes from the early 70's. Just a thought. |

Well, the whole scapler/hider/horder thing has been going on for ages. Theres nothing anyone can really do about it. Some stores, at least in my area, have a policy where they only allow so many of an item to be bought. I have personally seen scalpers/horders get denied of their quantity purchases and then try to come back in and go thru the register again and then get denied a second time. They get so mad, I think its funny. What life must you have?
As for courtesy among collectors, I dont see anything wrong with it. I have helped many a fellow collector out thru my years of collecting. My view is, if Im looking for a particular figure and just cannot find it anywhere and ask for help locating it, and another person has 50 of that same item and refuses to either share 1 or let me buy one from the pegs, then that person is an ass. Seriouisly, you cant give up just 1 toy? Even if you have multiples? I just dont understand that. |

I have yet to run into anyone else at my local Wal-Mart who is buying GI Joes. Somedays I wonder if I'm the only one that buys them... but I know that's not true, lol.
I would love to run into another collector... be nice to talk to someone in real life that likes GI Joe...
