The poll for this week, and the first of the New Year focuses on the 25th Anniversary/Modern Era toyline.
Going strong since it's launch in 2007, the 25th anniversary/modern era G.I. Joe toyline defied expectations, and lasted much longer than anyone anticipated. Going on nostalgia alone, this line was only planned to have 10 figures(the first 2 battle packs), and look how large the line has grown since then! Aside from core characters and fan favorites, we got some obscure characters, far overlooked fan favorites(Torpedo FTW!), the return of vehicles to the mass market, smaller classic vehicles(SHARC, Ghost HAWK, RAM, et al), the first blue Rattler in over 20 years, troop builders, the M.A.S.S. Device, comic packs(some with all new comics!), improved range of motion for elbow joints & more over time, elimination of "Duke arms", a mail away figure, and more to look forward to this year! The past two years has been a great time for RAH fans, as there was much more stuff catered to us in that time span than during the "new sculpt" years(2002-05, GVC/SpyTroops/VVV). No electronics, no missle launchers, no drastically different designs, just faithful homages to the classic RAH toys/characters that we loved when we were younger. So looking back, overall, are you satisfied with the 25th Annniversary/Modern Era G.I. Joe Toyline? DISCUSS!

Yea, but I would be happier if there was more vehicles, better joint movement, and better sculpt on certain areas such as crouch and hands.

So far, I'm extremely satisfied. Overall, the Modern Era figures are very well-made and Hasbro's done a wonderful job catering to the fans. If I have one complaint, it's that we aren't getting enough: the figures are difficult for some to find at retail, and we're well into the line and missing some major characters (Dr. Mindbender and Zarana, specifically!).
So I grade Hasbro a solid A for Modern Era G.I. Joe so far. Give the folks in charge of the line some of your other properties, Hasbro! :b |

I'm very happy with them so far, but I also would like more vehicles and just more figures

if this was based on a 1-10 scale, i'd say was an 8...minus two points for all the reapints of SS, SE, CC, Duke...and the halting of the "25th" Joes for the movie...
aside from that, i can't believe all we have gotten in just 2008 alone...asstounding |

over all, im more than happy with the line, and i hope it contiues...seeing more ''original'' people and bigger vehicles and playsets....my only complaint, has been said 1000 times, repaints, no more duke,CC or SE or storm shadow please..... there are other figures besides them, and i think we have covered all of thier wardrobe
