Unfortunately I've had GI Joe collectors ship this same way many times before. A few have been cool about it and appologized and some just left me hanging. I've had a Listen N Fun Tripwire get a foot ground off, a Night Striker Sled get crushed, Cards creased, etc... That's why I try to never ship in anything other than a box.

I bought a W1 Flint on 25th card about half a year ago and the guy sent it in a bubble wrap envelope. I'm an opener so the card condition didn't matter to me, but the card was in surprisgingly good shape when I opened the envelope. I guess where I'm going with this is that part of it depends on your mail carrier.

If he's advertising it as "mint," then he should know better. If not, he is just selling you merchandise to open. I couldn't care less how it's packaged when I receive stuff like that so long as the merchandise inside is protected. I'm just gonna open it up and display it as soon as I get it anyway. You need to remember, most people who buy toys open them...

Yeah the seller should've definitely boxed it up to decrease the odds of it getting banged up, especially if you paid more for shipping. I've shipped boxed stuff only for the buyer to get it all mashed up like it was used for punting practice too. I replaced the damaged item though. You ought to follow up with the seller to see if they can fix your situation as well.

I purchased a MOC 25th anny figure from ebay, and it finally arrives today. Not only does it take three weeks to arrive, but the genius seller ships it in a flimsy bubble mailer. I open it up, and the card has a huge crease all the way across the card. Why on earth would anyone ship a carded figure in a bubble mailer? I'm usually never leave negative feedback, but I may have to make an exception in this case. Just needed to rant...

I think as a buyer you need to make a point to tell the seller that you want the package to arrive mint. This makes a differece in how it is shipped. Shipping in a mailer is cheaper and requires less postage, a box with padding will raise the shipping cost of a single figure from around $2 to $5 for postage alone. Many buyers would rather save the extra money if they are just opening it. Never assume. If you need it mint, save your self a lot of hassle and let them know that.
