I always wanted to point this out and hopefully I am in the right category on the site.
In the cartoon series, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow never have a confrontation. All the while Storm Shadow and Spirit were getting it on but with the two diametrically opposed ninjas never get to swing their fists. The only time Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes were in the same episode was in "Cobra's Candidate" yet they never even have the same screen time. I recall back in a letter column in the old Joe comic, Larry Hama revealed how he had never seen the show. Hopefully he has now. Perhaps the episode writers didn't know much about the comic. Who knows. Perhaps they thought it would corrupt the creative process and inadvertently plagiarize material from the other.

The cartoon never really made much of Snake Eyes ninja personality, he was mostly just the silent commando. In fact the only time I can even think of him pulling his sword was in a brief clip in G.I.Joe the movie.

only time I ever seen them together was in the revenge of Cobra intro.. Snakeeyes swoops down on a glider & kicks Storm Shadow right after he throws some stars.. that encounter was about 2 secs long..

Snake-Eyes in the cartoon wasn't really a ninja.
The cartoon and the comic book are seperate entities with no connection to eachother. Now, are you saying that you won't want them to be connected? I'm confused to the purpose of this post. Why should Hama have seen the cartoon now?

A character who doesn't talk is a little easier to work into a comic than a 22 minute cartoon aimed at kids. If you notice, when Spirit and Storm Shadow fought, they were talking to each other the whole time. If Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow were to fight in the cartoon, it would be a 4 or 5 minute stretch with little or no dialogue.
And Troynos is right, Snake Eyes' ninja background and his history with Storm Shadow and Stalker (and everyone else for that matter) was never really addressed. |

Funny you mentioned this. I thought about this not too long ago and tried to remember if I ever seen Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow having it out on screen but all I remembered was Spirit.

Yeah, but wasn't there a whole sequence of them fighting in the VVV or Sigma 6 movie? I think the ninja plotlines were pretty well featured in those lines. They seemed to manage to pull it off in that sequence pretty well, even if it is a bit over the top.
Although I only really remember Kamakura and some weird Japanese anime kids in the two or so episodes I actually caught of S6 cartoon before it got cancelled. No wonder I didn't get into it, I didn't know many of the characters and the characters I did know didn't really translate well between the cartoon and toy line. Sorry about the S6 rant, back on topic. Yeah, Spirit vs. Storm Shadow in the original cartoon was lame from the beginning through the wacky dialogue to the final stupid simultaneous knocking each other out. Duh. The Joe cartoon would have been much better to pit the correct antagonists, even if one didn't talk. It still would have been less cheesy than Spirit and SS talking stupid throughout the whole battle. |

In the Dic series SE and Storm Shadow teamed up to find a sword that could only be used by "the world's greatest ninja", which SE ended up being. Of course by this time even Scarlett was a Ninja.
