Well this is one thing Zartan did influence.
But the character was likely inspired by something from Heavy Metal. He just reminds me of the villains from Den. Enjoy boys! Last edited by Zoltron; 12-17-2008 at 12:13 AM.. |

Factually...The Dreadnoks themselves represented the punk movement in the 70's...The ideaology of anarchy, the clothes and hair styles.
Zartan would simply fall into that category as a symbol of the generation, a generation that was changing it's more lovey-dovey 60's type values, for more hard edged values. That is why he is a chameleon. Because he represents change. |

wow...we get zartan, danzig, nick cave and black metal, all in one thread.
there's hope in the world, after all. I think zartan and the noks most likely were inspired by the road warrior flick. which was a australian, like most of the original noks (and nick cave). people here relate with danzig cuz he's 25th anniversary-sized.

But I do think his voice and look was a little bit Ozzy and a little bit Mad Max Road Warrior. |

Because he represents change. good idea but unless you can get me a picture of Dave Gregg with the same style shirt as Ripper's I'm gonna go with the Dreadnoks being the impure portions of society (Homosexuals, bikers and nihilistic bookworms)

Dreadnoks are a satirical parody of rednecks, Hells Angels, punks, and junkies.

Bahahahaha I called that one!
I don't think so bro, I have never seen a punk wearing a shirt like Ripper's, while Ripper and Buzzer's filecards made them out too be Anarchists, they weren't portrayed as them, and they sure as fuck didn't follow PUNK RAWK anarchy. And 70's punk was pretty dormant in 1984/1985. good idea but unless you can get me a picture of Dave Gregg with the same style shirt as Ripper's I'm gonna go with the Dreadnoks being the impure portions of society (Homosexuals, bikers and nihilistic bookworms) K, bro? |
