[QUOTE=darth_henning;454438]Doesn't mean I have to like it.
Stereotypical, but hey, at least theres one of us. and yet we work less, make more, have better health care.... Nope, Canada stole the American Dream. Sorry.[/QUOT] You forgot to add pay more taxes (not to mention no Target exclusives, HA HA!) Seriously though, I was only kidding, I knew that would get some feed back!

My opinion of america was not a factor when I was collecting joe as kid. They were the coolest toys period! I can't say the same about all canadians. During the first Gulf War, I was in a TRU with a young couple. The mother pointed to some 12 inch PTE figures and said they should get rid of those. Joe brings out strong emotions in some people. PTE is not joe. But to her it makes not difference. I was embarrassed. These were my own peer group. To that young mother, joe means war and violence and guns associated with america. I think that's a very common line of thought amongst the general populace.

I've always thought of Canada being to the US like New Zealand is to Australia. Generally, perceived as a very close cousin-nation. Except freezing. And I get that there are governmental differences/etc, but not enough to make them A LOT different, seriously.
I never even knew Joe was marketed outside the US as a kid. When I found out that it was "Action Force", I thought it was a stupid name, like "Fighter Team" or something generically-named. Now I get why the U.S. link was toned down in other countries, and it makes sense... What I think is stupid is them still keeping "UNITED STATES" stamped all over the Joe vehicles, if that was the case. Also, does Canada even have an Army?
