So when I was little my favourite thing to do with Joes was make them perform whirlwind kicks. I'd wind the lower torso around a couple times and then let it go, and Storm Shadow would kick down 5 joes with a flurry of Street Fighter style whirlwind kicks! I was kinda disapointed that I couldn't really do it with the Ninja Force do to their design (most of the Joes that I actually owned, rather then hand-me-downs from my brother were Ninja Force).
Anyway sometimes I'd end up snapping the o-rings and I had no idea how to get new ones, or fix the joes so that was it for them at that point.
Anyone else used to do this?

Hells yeah! But I also (probably mostly) wound up their top half and had them do tornado punches! Two fists means twice the hits!

Ha! That's how I broke my first Snake Eyes. It was all fun and games until his torso flew off. I damn near had a heart attack. My dad actually fixed it by doubling over a small rubber band a few times, and using it to replace the O-ring. When I found out that you could fix Joes that broke like this, I started getting my friends broken Joes and fixing them...my collection was HUGE after that point
I couldn't help but chuckle when the Ninja Force and Street Fighter figures later on, had these "fighting features"

Yeah I used to do that too
I think I must have broken around 2 O-rings that way. Most of my ARAH joe's had broken crotches due to Karate Kicks! lol
But most of all, the thumbs broke off because I wanted the guns to point straight forward instead of a silly bend. Urg that bugged the heck out of me as a kid. I really wanted them to point their guns at the right angle!
I think the thumbs also broke because of the colder climate here which tends to make the plastic brittle.

Same here.. I did that pretty often. However I also figured out how to fix my joes and do head/arm swap customs.
I put a chuckles head on Destro to make an unmasked version. Did similar things with CC, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.
A Gem of That Size Answers ALL my questions.

My dad fixed my TF Flint for me once after I did that. The regular rubber band never did work as well... I was always disappointed in my floppy Flint after that.

and this is when customs started....finding out when you take that little screw out of their backs, and all the pieces fall out.... the imagination could run wild
