As a kid, i found Stalker and a armless Scarlett in a park.
My brother and i were amazed, and went running to my parents to ask for those little wonders (little, cos at that moment we used to play with the bulkier He-man figures), and i got Rock n Roll and my brother got Breaker and Zap (since i had the other two) for christmas (the only one that survived harmless is Breaker, even the equipment).
Some years ago, a "friend" thought it would be amusing to destroy those "stupid toys": Freefall, the beloved Rock n Roll and the four-wheeled Cobra byke (name?). So i broke his nose, and we never spoke again. :(

My first Joe was straight arm Flash. I got him and the RAM cycle on the same day at Bradlee's.

I think you are talking about the Cobra Ferret if I am not mistaken. That's awsome, you breaking his nose. He should've never touched your Sh*t in the first place. I say, good for you.
My first Joe's were Snake Eyes V1 and Storm Shadow V1. Always thought they were cool and kinda the ultimate ninjas. From there it sorta grew with more additions and mail aways(Tomax/Xamot, CC, Destro, Baroness, Duke, BBQ, Bazooka, Checkpoint, Manta, etc, etc. Then when we moved, most of my stuff got "missplaced" so I started searching again for stuff that I use to have. Kinda has sentimental value if you all know what I mean. Takes you back to those "good ol fun days" where you would create a battle field with your friends and just have fun.
Then about a year ago, coming home from my second deployment, my little brother showed me the 25th line that he had bought at Wal-Mart and I knew that I had to get them. I was already behind like 3 waves but I manged to catch up to the current wave that was out and I am still on it. You can never outgrow being a Joe fan!

The H.A.V.O.C. with Cross-Country for Christmas '86. I'd been a fan of GI Joe for a few years before that, and I owned some GI Joe licensed stuff and watched the cartoons everyday, but for some reason (probably financial) my parents never bought me any figures throughout those years.
But for Christmas '86, my Grandma surprised me with the H.A.V.O.C. (and my cousin got the SnowCat and Silver Mirage).
And if my memory serves me correctly, a few days later I returned another gift to Wal-Mart and exchanged it for Beach-Head and MonkeyWrench. So within a couple days I had truly begun my collection with the H.A.V.O.C., Cross-Country, Beach-Head and Monkeywrench. Over the next few weeks and months I added Dial-Tone, Sci-Fi, Zarana, Commander Hawk, and Low-Light. My Joe craze had begun. I was no longer just a casual fan of GI Joe through the cartoon and a few misc Joe things like my old Joe Big Wheel and binoculars, etc. No, I was know all about the Joe toys and I pretty much abandoned every other toy line including the great M.A.S.K.

Quick Kick & Shipwreck were my first 2 Joe's I got when I was a kid. G.I. Joe actually started around 1987 here in the Netherlands... I'm sure I would have had a lot more Joe's if they were released sooner.
I never had any Star Wars figure tho. I bought a big box of used loose vintage Star Wars back when I was around 14 years old. I'm guessing my very first action figure must have been a MOTU He-Man figure.
From the 25th Anniversary, the Cobra 5-pack #1 Cobra Trooper was my first figure.
