I remember one day back in 1982 I got Snake Eyes and Grunt. I had no clue at the time that I would be launching an obsession that would last 25 years (and counting)......

Unofficially, Steeler. But as it was the UK Z-Force version, he probably doesn't count.
My first 'non-repaint' Joes were Flash, Breaker, Ripcord and Blowtorch in the same mail order shipment, although they were technically ACTION FORCE figures, not Joes. The first one I opened was Blowtorch as he looked so cool in the packet, so I guess he's my 'first' Joe.

From the original line, it was Snake Eyes, then Flash and Scarlett. I then traded some Star Wars figs to a buddy for Stalker, Breaker, Flash, and Rock'n'Roll. From the 25th line, it was Flint, Snake Eyes, and Storm Shadow.
Funny thing about that trade was that my friend had all the original single except Scarlett, and he really wanted me to trade her. i just couldn't do it though. |

My first Joe was a straight-arm Grunt. I still have him but the poor bastards arms are broken. Anyone have some spare arms?

I don't recall...I think it was Barbecue and the Silver Mirage as my first vehicle, though I could be mistaken but I'm fairly certain. I recall sitting on the living room floor putting the stickers on the cycle and digging on Barbecue's axe. Though my earliest memories are foggy. I also recall laying with Deep Six and the SHARC and Footloose so it could be anything that this point.
I clearly recall getting Croc Master for Easter one year and Wet suit and the Devil fish for my birthday. Those my absolute earliest memories of gettng joes. I know I had more before then, though wwhich I can't say. There are plenty since then, but the very first??? Not sure.

Unfourtunately I did not have the pleasure of collecting G.I. Joe until about a year ago when the 25th Anneversary was released. It was Wizard World con and I was staying at a freinds house. He told me that they would be really BIG. So I picked up my first set of Joes, G.I. Joe 5-pack! I opened them up and played with em' all night. (lol) Best set of figures I ever had the pleasure of purchasing. I posed them all on my freinds coffee table that day and the day after I picked up the Cobra set!
Good times... Good times...
