Nope. Right when you load up the discs they have chapter breaks that ARE the eps and the background is the theme. It might be HQ Prod I'm not sure. There are 5 discs that fit 20 eps per disc with the final 15 eps, thee movie, PSAs, opening intros, closing credits, and commercials on the last disc.

Yeah mine sound exactly like that except the first screen you see is white with an HQ productions title flash then it proceeds to chapter breaks which are the episodes.

Well...I'm no expert...but 20 episodes per disc is an awful lot. That requires way, way too much compression to do so. Most of the dvd's sold to the public have alot less memory than the standard used by manufacturers.
I know my nephew owns the Rhino sets...and there isn't no where near 20 episodes per disc on them. The errors you are experiencing sound like there is too much info being crammed into too little memory.

Man, my memory is really foggy about the cartoon. What I remember is the initial first season a little bit, and then the mini series about Serpentor, then the movie, then some episodes with the newer toys with Captain Grid Iron and the like. Those episodes weren't too hot, in my opinion, but I don't know if they are the DIC episodes everyone is referring to or not, since back then, I didn't really pay attention to that stuff. All that said, yes, I would buy the DVDs if they were released, and I think they will be- just a matter of time.

So it's obvious that there is a high demand for the cartoon series. This being true, why doesn't someone take advantage of this & re-release? It's beyond me. These things would sell like hotcakes just like the new 25th action figures do.

I have the first two (or three?) GI Joe Mini-series on DVD. I remember them being a heck of a lot better than the regular series. The original GI Joe movie was an embarrasment.

I fondly remember the cartoon from when I was a kid, but it's all fuzzy to me... what is DiC? And I remember the "got to get tough" theme song... were the episodes you all seem to hate before, during, or after that time period?

The "Got To Get Tough - Yo Joe!" theme was towards the end of GI Joe's cartoon run and was the crappy era of the cartoon. I think the episodes that used that theme aired from around 1988 until 1990 or 1991.
