Im an Iron Worker for Local unoin #10 in Kansas City. They take applications the first of every month. You start off half pay, but after 4800 hours you become journeyman. Which pays around $26.75 rite now. With yearly raises, 401k, annuity fund, get to work all over K.C. Ive worked on the K.C. Star, Sprint Center,GM and Ford Plant. I'm working at the Kauffman Stadium right now. Get to check for figs all the time. It's hard dangerous work, but it pays the bills.

You can also check out the television station, KMBC I worked there when I lived in KC as an "Operating Engineer" basically, you record shows off of the satellites, record commercials on to a beta tape then put said tape into a large machine and set up shows to air out of another beta machine. The hours kinda suck, you'll probably be a part timer that will work 40 hours a week and get "fired" one week every year so they can say you've worked part time hours and don't qualify for benefits. I think starting pay is $13/hr. You really shouldn't need much training to do the job and it can be pretty easy. Could be good if you really can't find anywhere else to work

I don't think so, but when I got the job, I was already in the business and had been doing a more experienced job for 4 years already. But like I said, you really only need to know how to press record on a tape machine and how to count time
