with the new Joe's coming out, is it online only now? i have heard that they will comeback, but? at a range price of 8.98 to 9.98 i don't think so!! so dose any one have any idea on what the hell is going on? |

What the hell is going on? Seriously?
Almost two years into our Great Recession, with the oil producing eastern nations threatening to tear themselves apart in chaotic revolutions, more mysterious oil leakage in the Gulf of Mexico, skyrocketing oil prices, and ??? I had to quit collecting Adventure Team G.I. Joes when the petroleum crisis hit Hasbro and the rest of the economy in the late 70’s. The shelves stopped carrying joes, because people couldn’t afford the plastic. Today’s joes are smaller, so they are less likely to face entire cancellation. Just expect really high prices for even the single carded figures. Expect vehicles to become really small items, or no vehicles at all. Expect many stores to simply stop carrying G.I. Joes unless its in the months of a motion picture release or a shopping holiday such as Christmas. Collectors will have to turn to online retailers for their source of G.I. Joes, (if they haven’t already). Hasbro will have to make the difficult decision of whether or not to keep the G.I. Joes in production during economic hard times, or just to return with the classic product after shutting down the line for a few years (like they’ve done twice in the past already). |

Now with news that Hasbro/Hub TV has cancelled the G.I. Joe Renegades cartoon series for 2011-2012, would you expect any toy aisles to expand their set-ups for G.I. Joe products?
Will the 30th Anniversary products even make it to retail, or are they destined for Ross in the early part of 2013? I am doubting some of the information which came out of Toy Fair 2011, so I'm not sure if I will trust the information which comes out of JoeCon 2011, only a couple months later. Maybe Hasbro and the Hub made the right decisions on a corporate level. I just don't think that they value G.I. Joe or it's aging fanbase right now. G.I. Joe Renegades was for the fans, but it didn't make good business sense for the company. G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra is for the fans, but does it make good business sense for the company, or for retailers? The second motion picture for G.I. Joe might not even make it to the box office on time, and where would that leave the hobby? The panel discussions at JoeCon might prove to be interesting next weekend. |

I'm in CT too, (Southern Litchfield County) and the only place where they're not in clearance bins is Toys' R' Us in Danbury. They had a decent showing. Found a lot of Wave 3 there the other day minus the Shock Trooper.

Of the 2 WM's I stop into, they haven't had new Joe stuff since around Jan. I was in a different one yesterday that was in the middle of a reset and I didn't see any at all. I looked at the plan-o-gram (or whatever it's called) and there was no space for Joe stuff at all. Looks like WM is done with them, for now. The TRUs and Targets in my area have also been dry for a while.
