I would tread lightly with that one.... We already got an ear full with religion from a mod in another thread... but I do agree....

Out of the box suggestions:
Leon, from The Professional (Jean Reno) Sniper Nikita, as in La Femme Nikita. Spy The Wolf, from Pulp Fiction (Harvey Keitel) C'mon, he's so resourceful! Hawkeye (original or Ultimate) Winter Soldier (better as a Cobra agent)

How about Brad Pitt's Character from "Spy Game" code named: Boy Scout.
Robert Redford's character in "The Last Castle".

There's NO way that would happen. Craig's bond gets beat up all the time: bloody noses are the order of the day for that guy. He's always cleaning himself up. And he looks like he's been punched in the face all his life.
Connery made it look easy because he was just that good. Has Craig flown a plane or anything else? Connery has flown Jet packs, ultra lights, helicopters, etc. Has Craig done any scuba diving or under water assaults? Connery has scuba dived, done aquatic night infiltrations, etc. Can Craig wear any kind of disguise? Connery faked his own death and dressed as and Asian to infiltrate a foreign operation. Craig gets his cover blown when he gambles. Connery walks away from the table without ever getting tortured. Can Craig drive his car? without messing it up and destroying it? Connery has driven all kinds of vehicles, and usually without a scratch. Does Craig get a little too emotionally involved with women and cry about it? Connery never worried one bit about a woman. He would have just as soon as shot them as slept with them. Sean Connery was still rocking and rolling as James Bond in his 50's... where will Craig be when he's 50? Craig has publicly stated that he thinks his version of James Bond should have a gay love scene in the future. Sean Connery would not have touched that idea with a 10 foot pole. Craig is in pretty good shape. Connery is a former Mr. Universe Contestant. Can Craig crack a joke... ever? Connery made Bond charming and funny as well as exciting and dangerous. Sean Connery IS James Bond. I laugh at the notion that Craig could beat him even today. By the way he can certainly act circles around any of the rest as well. |

I think Craig needs another movie under his belt before he's "The New Definitive Bond" but he sure as shit is more badass and realistic. He's more Bourne—instead of wise-cracking playboy—which is closer to Fleming's idea of an assassin/agent Bond anyways. Connery was awesome, but it's 2008. Let's move on. Either way, what sort of GOOD secret agent drinks that much on the job? That's what I want our government's life in the hands of... ————— Anyways, Samuel L. Jackson. Not a character, effing Sam Jackson. And Russell Crowe. |
