G.I. Joe 8" RAH Style Figures Yes or No

The debate of the week will focus on the 8" G.I. Joe Body Style.

Our question of the week: Would You Purchase G.I. Joe 8" Classic RAH Figures At The $20.00 Price Point?

The idea of a Classic 8" RAH Line I'm sure has been kicked around at least once or twice up at Hasbro, however there has never been any official mention of any such line. With that said if Hasbro's G.I. Joe Team started to produce - bring back the 8" line with new updated heads, weapons and gear that fit in with the Classic look of RAH would you support this effort?

Please keep in-mind, this is Not A Debate on how bad the Sigma 6 Cartoon was. We all have been there, done that and have washed the t-shirt several times already. This debate should revolve around the Action Figure Body Style. Did you like the figures? If so way? If you hated them why and how could they have been improved? If you were to design the 8" RAH line what figures, weapons and gear would you use?

The last debate went really well. Everybody respected the opinions of others and stated their case. I know this is more of a sensitive subject so just try to be open minded and respect the ideas of your fellow board members.

Nope, the toys have no appeal to me (and I enjoyed the show), honestly it's not about how good/bad they are. I really only buy joes to set up/play with my other joe figures... the idea of having larger toys just don't appeal to me (unless they are amazing like the sideshow 12").

About the only thing I would buy is robot characters (like BATS), cause then they could just be bigger robots.

No I wouldn't. No appeal due to size and cost.

No, they would have to look amazing to change my mind. The Sigma Sux figures didn't quit do it for me so I don't see how anything else in that style would be any better.

Were almost damn near paying $20 for 3 1/4 figs!

There is no-way I would buy these. If I wanted to collect Barbie, I would collect Barbie. Of course, I guess I could take my baby girl's pink corvette and convert it to a hiss tank.

Cheers,

S

I would, but is there a reason why they would cost $20? That's $5+ more than the msrp of the Commando pricepoint figures. If it is due to inflation and whatnot, that's understandable.

With that said, I would buy these granted that the bodies are changed. I would prefer more realistic proportions. I think if that were done, these figures would outsell the 12" joes currently on shelves. The 8" bodies already had more articulation than the current 12" joes, with a realisticly styled/proportionate body, there would be no reason for the 12" joes to even be on shelves. I would like to have the double ball jointed elbows and knees on these figures, such as those found on the Dojo Snake Eyes, jetpack Storm Shadow, and helipack Snake Eyes from Sigma 6. Those joints were innovative. The best things about the new 12" figures are the new head sculpts. They look good, though some are out of proportion compared to some of the bodies, unfortunately. If we could get realistic head sculpts for the 8" line, as well as proportionate limbs, hands and feet, I'd be happy, coupled with the double jointed elbows/knees.

As toys, I've always felt that the Sigma 6 figures were better toys than the regular 12" figures(unless you count the super articulated versions, then it's harder to compare). The accessories were the things that attracted me to Sigma 6 as well as the consistency, add in everything I mentioned above, and I'm sold.

No way. I'm okay with 4 Inch, Combat Heroes, and I guess Mighty Muggs. 12 Inch and 8 Inch scale should die off.
