I think we've gotten our lines crossed somewhere. I'm mainly referring to the comic. Heavy Duty is drawn as Roadblock v2. And I know that you're just relaying what was said. My point is, if they want Heavy Duty in the comic, then they should draw Heavy Duty, not Roadblock. And if they want to please both fans, use Roadblock and Heavy Duty in the comic. It's not like it costs them anything more to have both characters in the comic. And they don't have to be in the same issue together. I just don't like that they're giving Roadblock Heavy Duty's name. If they called Flint Falcon, I'd be just as annoyed. It detracts from the story.
What can I say, I grew up in the 80's.

I totally agree with you. Have everyone in black outfits is stupid and lacks commitment to the characters, why not call the movie X-men 4 After the cure! I have always wanted a G.I. Joe movie, so far I watch "The Rock" with Ed Harris as Cobra Commander..Bad A movie. Or "Guns of Navarone" Cobra Island as the fortress that no one can beat, but put in the small group, Carl Weather, Harrison Ford and others (Joes) and the Nazis are Cobra and you got a Bond Girl topless to boot!

Personally, I don't mind certain changes or the modernization of a character. For instance, given that Stalker was in Viet Nam, he should be well in his fifties or sixties by now, so if they keep him young and rewrite his background history to appeal to modern audiences, then great. Likewise Gung-Ho and Zap should carry a modern MLG or LAW, rather than the original M79 and Bazooka. Plus, I like that for the comic they've modernized Scarlett's look. A Leotard would look funny so they gave her armor, but kept the color and basic pattern. These are all good decisions, but giving one distinct charcacter another distinct character's name...well, I've already exhausted this thread to death with my point.

It would stand to reason that greatness runs in familys right?
I mean sons follow in there fathers footsteps, brothers compete in the same things, the police, firedepartments, and military all have family serving in them, hell Duke had a little Bro, why can't Roadblock have a nephew in G.I joe? |

I think they should do this more often, for one its a easy way to explain why they are similar in some ways, number two most of us would not have a problem with it and third if would explain the passage of time alittle, they do get older right?
