I would hook fans up with under cover Joes! GIJoes wearing regular civilian uniforms. I would produce 1 figure every wave that was a fan favorite in civilian clothing. Maybe give them a vest that isnt part of the body sculpt and sculpt a pistol sling on his chest so that he is still armed but you cant see it from the outside. It would open up the possibilities of GIJoe play substaintially. In a lot of the comics Joes spend half of there cover time wearing regular clothing. Heck snake eyes is in multiple comics wearing a black long sleeve T shirt and Hat!!! I would so buy that figure! We have literally 37 versions of Snake Eyes, one of them in regular army clothing and a hat. It seems very reasonable to have a version that can actually go out in public and not get laughed at. I think collectors would go crazy for that kinda crap! Any ways.... A whole bunch of things would be different if I ran Hasbro, all of it for the better. What do you think of this idea?
This same exact post is on my blog, I would really appreciate comments there as well as here. I have it set up so that anyone can comment.... gijoetoyblog.blogspot.com

If I ran Hasbro... I would make sure we had all our figures and vehicles that we all had back in the day up until 1988 plus an Alley Viper. And by gosh we would have a plethora of vehicles and figures and no one would starve for Joes!!! WHO'S WITH ME ??? VOTE FOR THE BATMAN!!!
PS... this is not a political post. |

A dollar says the mods warn you for including the words "political post" in your response. 2 dollars says I get warned for using the word "mods" followed by a sentence having to do with you getting warned.
I accept Paypal. :-)

I would seriously have double the amount of Joes I own if they made them in civilian clothes.
Here is my questions for Hasbro, I am sure you can tell what I am pushing for and what I would do if I ran the show. 1. Would you ever consider making GIJoe fan favorites in civilian clothing? For instance, a Snake Eyes wearing a long sleeve black tee shirt and ball cap? 2. Can we expect more weaponry in the future so that we don't have to use outside sources? 3. Can we expect for the chest joint to be improved allowing for more forward "crunch" motion? 4. The waist swivel featured on Toys like Dusty has quickly become a fan favorite can we expect this articulation to become standard for all GIJoes? 5. I am a big fan of Call of Duty 4, I believe a lot of there success is because they listen to there fans extremely well. They even have someone who's job is to figure out what the majority of the public wants(IamFourZeroTwo). Would Hasbro ever consider hiring someone to watch and post on these and other forums, create polls for the community, run a blog, create podcasts, keep us informed of inside happenings, and simply figure out what the community is looking for in your products?

I dont really care for Joes in civilian clothes but I can definately see thier appeal for dios and play.
If I ran Hasbro...I would put out a line of Joes and Joe vehicles that reflects present day military as well as military from the RAH 80s era. I would have different waves specializing different areas of the military-GI JOE Carrier wave--includes a skipper, lil Boss, Shooter, various other specialties that work on a carrier-complete them with names/filecard/accessories, one could move on to the MARINES, ARMY, and AIR FORCE, and of coarse US COAST GUARD. Different playsets and vehicles could also be done all under the guise of GI JOE. |

If I ran Hasbro all of my lieutenants would be action figure dorks like myself, and we would exercise no mercy on the rest of the staff. Obominations like Duke arms and diaper crotches would be met with swift and brutal punishment. I would make unreasonable demands and outlandish claims, with no respect for the bottom line. The pegs would would be dripping with perfect figures, and the Hasbro building would flow with the blood of the non-believers.

If I Ran Hasbro...
I would do more than one freaking sculpt. I would make certain figures & Vehicles exactly as they were in the 80's for the collectors even if they were special order only. I mean EXACTLY packaging wise. Would definitely finish out the line from the 80's. I would also make some modern era military stuff especially since we can't get a freaking 80's skystriker. We still need a skystriker! Stalkers hands would not have looked like they were boiled in water. I would make sure this stuff was on the shelves to keep the fans happy. I'd start a chain of Hasbro Toy Stores Brick & Mortar Style. I would build a Hasbro Theme Park with a G.I. Joe Island.
