I'm kind of surprised by the negative reaction. Everybody complains about what kind of a crappy, lazy job Hasbro has been doing with the 25th line as of late. But the possibility of another company taking on the license to offer a potentially better and different product, it's an overwhelming negative reaction. I guess you really can't please fanboys/girls. Maybe it's the price point? HLJ sells their revoltech for about $19-$20 USD depending on the exchange, which I think is a fair price for those figures considering the detail, articulation and overall quality. You not only get the figures, but Kaiyodo has been known to produce lots of accessories that come with the figures. Maybe I'm in the minority cause I'm from Canada and I pay on average anywhere from $9.99 to $12.99 for a single carded figure which also has 13% taxes added onto it. So $20 for a revoltech quality figure is a steal to me.
Kaiyodo has started working on western lines, like the Aliens series, so I hope they continue on with that. I'd love to see Marvel revoltech figures, Joes, etc. Last edited by pud333; 11-08-2008 at 05:13 PM.. |

I think saying 43.75% Yes, to 56.25% No, is hardly the overwhelming negative reaction you make it out to be. However I do think your right about the price point. I added a few bucks for Shipping and License Royalties.
Another problem is there is no Product in-front of us to see what one would look like. I would die for a Commando Snake Eyes, Zartan, B.A.T., Destro, Baroness FireFly and Storm Shadow.

Seems nice if your still opening stuff, but all of that fancy articulation goes right out the window when you purely collect MOC in which a lot of people here do. I'm not saying that people aren't opening items either, but it's gotta be around 50/50, maybe 60/40 to what people do with their stuff. Hrmm...has anyone ever started that poll yet?
Also, on a personal note, when I do happen to open any toy related item I kinda just display it somewhere and call it a day. Are that many people our age still playing with/or changing poses that often to warrant such a product? Remember.. adults would essentially be the only ones buying these at a $25-$30 price tag, minimum. In all, they seem cool, but I doubt that when considering what people have already said, in addition to more, that a viable market would exist for these. Maybe.. as a limited run with a few core characters, but nothing more then that. |

Considering the drama of the Sgt. Slaughter license not to be shared between two companies, I am not sure if this is a very realistic possibility. I would be shocked if Hasbro releases rights to main characters to another company - and I wonder what that would do to the production of the 25th line (although at this point I am actually hoping that the SS, SE, Duke, and CC rights are given away). Could they make both at the same time? My guess is no. That being said I would take the 25th line over this idea.

I have the Transformers and they pull apart constantly. I'm not sure if the joints are going to move or if its going to break when I'm trying to pose them. The joints are super tight but as stated previously it is sometimes a hindrance.

The concept of being able to take the figure apart is pretty cool, but I find $25-30 a little too pricy. It would be better at $10-12.

I voted NO.
First of all, Revoltech ball jointed wrists look weird to me, I don't like it. At $20+ each they are expensive. Besides, army building figures at $20+ each becomes way too expensive imo. I like the 4" scale for my joes and have no interest in buying them in a larger scale. Many of the other military toy lines are in the same 1 1/8 scale as GI Joe which makes it perfect to share those realistic vehicles and other parts. I like how GI Joe also has lots of vehicles. Some of the vehicles are huge for the 4" scale. It would be unrealistic to expect those vehicles in the Revoltech line. Without vehicles, it's way less interesting for me. I'm also trying to collect many of the 1 1/8 series. I can't wait for the new Marvel and Terminator lines!! |

not only yes but HELL YES!!!!
sure they are out of scale, cost a lot, but imagine storm shadow and snake eyes with ULTRA posability!!! (other core characters also. but super articulated ninjas?! woo!) i think hasbro could pull it off. they have legends and are soon doing the marvel universe in a different scale. the only thing i think that would hold this back is like somebody said: GI Joe is an american thing, and revoltech is japanese. i havent seen revoltech on US shelves (not counting specialty/import stores). and while i was living in japan, i never saw any GI Joe stuff (25th or otherwise) at retail either. seems like a wierd combo, but i would LOVE it! very cool idea, and hopefully hasbro gives this some thought.

I'm sorry, but it wouldn't work for me... this guy looks like he belongs in Fist of the North Star (ick!) not GI Joe... just curious is it actually from Hokuto no Ken?
