Seeing all the discontinuity with Snake Eyes service in 'Nam has gotten me thinking about a few things. Could it be he got in around '67 or '68 did his first tour with SS then hooked up with Stalker for the second tour got wounded, patched up then came back and served with SF in MACV-SOG? and this is why he has the memory of the last chopper out?
What about this: So Snake-Eyes comes home after his 2 tours with the LRRPs - but he's only home on leave. Remember that he showed up at the Airport in Uniform. If he had been discharged, he would have been wearing civilian clothing. So he comes home and finds that his family has been killed... now Uncle Sam is his only family, and that jungle is his only home. So he signs up for another hitch and re-ups for Special Forces training and goes MACV-SOG. He's looking for something even more dangerous because he's got something of a death wish. MACV-SOG ended operations in '72. If he saw the "last Chopper Out" he may have just kept re-upping with Special Forces until the war ran out. This may have been the time when the stuff with Baroness' brother and Destro happened. Then, with no war left to fight and no American home to return to, he simply lost touch and eventually made his way to Japan. Now, Stalker was a "lifer". He's a career soldier. So, because he came to the Joe team as a Ranger, he probably stayed with the 75th Ranger Regiment until the end of Vietnam. He may have lost track of Snake-Eyes after SE went SF with MACV-SOG. Storm-Shadow probably headed back to Japan after his 2nd tour with the LRRPs was up. Does all of that seem plausible with the canonical timeline of the comics? Would that explanation come close to working?

Y'all may have already seen the news on the other thread, but they just canceled the Polar Sharc and the other vehicles from that wave. We may NEVER get that new Marine character: Ice Storm. That really stinks. I was really looking forward to that vehicle and to Ice Storm. I am ANGRY!

So I'm not worried about it at all.

I don't know if that would work. It's explicit that Stalker, Storm Shadow and Snake-Eyes all served together in the same LRRP unit in 'Nam. My question is: When did all that stuff go down between Snake-Eyes and the Baroness' brother and Destro? When did that happen?

Far as I know, and I gave up on that thread after the first 8 pages of nonsense, is that only the Collector's Club has said the wave has been canceled. I haven't gotten any notification from BBTS that they have gotten a cancellation for their preorders.
So I'm not worried about it at all.

What? Really? It wasn't HTS or BBTS or any other reputable seller? Just the Collector's Club? Still, it's a bit strange. Do you know anything else? Any other facts to debunk the myth. Seriously, you know how I am about Joe Marines, Troy. I'm a pretty concerned about this. Help me out here.
Which is why I'm not getting to upset about it. Nothing from Hasbro. Now I can see them pushing it out until 2010, considering how badly overordered most places are on the first couple of waves. I can see Hasbro pushing it to the first month or so of 2010 and letting the 2nd wave of vehicles get some shelf time. Have yet to see any of the 2nd wave of vehicles up in my neck of the woods and I'm not alone there. Ice Storm is a Marine? I thought he was a SEaL?

Thanks man. I'm eager for Loose, Fogger, and Lifeline to take a look at it. Those guys are "Johnny on the Spot" when it comes to the original Hamaverse.
Hey, I've got an idea: If y'all will help me craft a question about this - and I mean word it well, and phrase it succinctly - then I will email Larry Hama with the question and we can see what he says. How about it? I might give the thread something to work on together, which is always fun when we've done it before. I'm honestly not expecting much of an answer, but who knows... could be worth a shot. Can't hurt, and what have we got to lose?

Would it be impossible for SE to be pulled in and out on a per mission basis? That would help account for his classified documents as he'd go from classified mission to unclassified to classified to unclassified and so on until finally ending up on the LRRP unit with Stalker and Tommy.
