That's funny-I have a Funskool Lifeline on card. Very strange colors, like they used a Tiger Force Lifeline as the base but added some red to his pouches. His torso and legs are a light green and his arms are yellow.

They primarily perform Civil Affairs, Psy Ops and Security / Law Enforcement duties. The way I see them operating is that they are scattered across the US and the rest of the world. Say, there's a situation in downtown Cleaveland. It'll take the Joes 2 hrs to get there. The Pitt activates the agents in the area and they secure the site, conduct surveillance and can either provide on site support when the joes get there or they can take control of the situation themselves. Also, if Joe ops finds an unknown viral agent that was stolen from a top secret facility, The ops officer can get on the satlink and get expert advice from a professor in Addis Addiba, He's a member of the Steel Brigade. Some SB members cross over to the Joe team (like Rook, Red Zone and Checkpoint) as part of their active duty service component of the service. Some do not and some Joes join the Steel Brigade when they leave active Joe service (like Grunt when he was at Virginia Tech). Operationally, there is still the issue of National Guardsmen cannot be activated individually per soldier but Reserves can. I'm thinking of a simple Presidential decree that allows Guardsmen to operate as Steel Brigade members (the same way the Joes get around the Posse Comitatus Act). What do you guys (and girls) think? |

I've decided to use the Steel Brigade as a National Guard force augmenter for the joe team...
... The individual members are doctors, lawyers, historians, law enforcement and engineers.Experts in their own fields. Most are members of the US Army and Air Force National Guard and Reserve components. They primarily perform Civil Affairs, Psy Ops and Security / Law Enforcement duties... ... Some SB members cross over to the Joe team (like Rook, Red Zone and Checkpoint) as part of their active duty service component of the service. Some do not and some Joes join the Steel Brigade when they leave active Joe service (like Grunt when he was at Virginia Tech). ... Did Funskool ever stop making Super Cops? I still see one from time to time at Winners (the Canadian equivalent of discount chain department store chains TJ Maxx & Marshalls). Never been tempted to get one, though. |

Neat use of the Steel Brigade concept! If there's anything I'd potentially take issue with (and it's just me nitpicking at this point), it's the name. Are they really going to be a brigade-sized unit? Personally, I think Steel Battalion (even uses the same initials!), Steel Squadron, or Steel Regiment has the same ring to it, but the allusion to a smaller-sized force structure makes them sound like a more elite grouping.

I love Super Cop - here's how I use him. He's Sgt. Slaughter under cover and the renegades act as his prisoners to infiltrate criminal areas, or prisons or whatever. It allows the Joes to work domestically as a black op.
