Oh, and for those of you on Facebook, there's a new quiz that's a lot of fun to take: "What kind of Special Operations Unit should you be in?" It would be fun to see how we all do.

I'll have to check it out. Haven't been on Facebook in awhile though.

So I was reading through my newly acquired collection of Special Mission Comics and I finished reading #18 and there on the last page is this:
http://yojoe.com/archive/mailin/steelbrigade.shtml The Steel Brigade mail-in offer. I sent mine in a long time ago so I forgot about it, but there is the perfect formula. You check off a couple boxes and boom! Here's a finished product: YOJOE.COM | Filecard Gallery - Steel Brigade Only thing missing is Birthplace and Rank and Filename. Yet they have the formula; Traits, Ability, Personality. I mean did they get this from Hama? It's around the time he stopped writing them. I sent mine in and never got my figure. Damn Hasbro :( Looking back, my guy I created was a Super-Joe, the Do-It-All kind that I don't like nowadays. That's kind of funny. I'm sure there's alot of units that we don't know about.

Funny quiz. I took one look at the questions and knew I either was a washout or Air Force (I score terribly on all wilderness types of questions). I got Air Force, lol.

You know, it strikes me a funny - all these Top Secret Units we talk about... I wonder how many units exist that we don't know about. Thanks to you guys, I just heard about the 24th STS. I wonder how many other units there are that we don't know about. Does the NSA have a unit? Do the Marines actually have a unit we don't know about?
The thing that sort of lessens my interest in these temporary task forces, no matter how seemingly impressive they might be, is the lack of distinctive unit history. One of the main draws to researching militaria for me is tracing unit lineage, tracking changes to the DUIs and other insignia, that type of "geeky" stuff. These units don't really have that. |

Quickie kitbash:
He's a sniper. His real name is Lazlo Bronsky and he wears the mask for a reason. Need a codename for him.
