Obviously with Snake being a ninja he is dangerous but they don't teach our armed forces in real life how to be a ninja....lol.
So yea Taskmaster you hit the nail on the head. I am thinking more in the lines of hand to hand combat. Would a SEAL take out a Ranger.... is more in line what I am thinking? |

If you mean Actual units. IMO:
I'd Say Delta being first just from the fact that the are usually older and are recruited from other special Forces Units. (My Opinion is Lowlight is a Delta Operator and Larry sort of admitted as much to Oliver) Next would be SEAL DEVGRU units due to extensive training. Then I would say Green Berets due to the amount of training they get as well. Next Force Recon Marines then I'd say Rangers. Air Combat controllers should be noted for the amount of training they get as well as PJs. My verse: Snake-Eyes, Lowlight, Chuckles, Mercer, Mace make up my Delta Operators. |

Yep units. Now is it possible that Someone who was trained as a Seal could become a Ranger? Or is that impossible?

However, I see the Joes as a multi-service, combined arms group that recruits from all branches. So in my Joeverse it is possible. |

So in the real world being that the Joes do not exist and the USA had a mission to send in a group of men to extract a scientist from the grips of Cobra (they do exist in this world) they would more than likely send in a Delta team?
Or what if they had to assassinate/ terminate a world leader...... would they still send in a Delta team? |

Thanks for all the info. I have no military background as you can surmise and all I know is from what we see on the TV or in the Movies. So this is very insightful to me. It also helps me understand the Filecards so much more.
Now the Delta Team is that the same as a Delta SEAL or am I confusing the two? I thought I heard that phrase before? Also what is what branch of the service for the specific special forces? Delta Seals - Navy(?) Rangers - Army (?) etc. |

Hey, Rocky. I, like you, have no military experience. But a good way to get a feel for the basics of some of the special operations units we employ would be to read this (and the supporting links):
United States Special Operations Command - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Then, when you ask a more specific question, it will make a bit more sense to you. Hope this helps! |
