So I've changed my base idea around, yet again (never happy with anything I do but..).
I was tossing around the idea of the PIT. Doing anything underground has risks. The way the PIT of Marvel and IDW is portrayed, they have to dig HUGE (even bigger then the footprint of the structure) in the ground and then fill it all in again. It's alot easier to do it like NORAD was, dig into a mountain thru the side. Easier to hide what you're doing (no huge holes open in the ground for months and months), and easier to use the natural caverns to cut down on the digging. So I'm going to do something along those lines. Inside a mountain but instead of the multiple floors I had shown, I'm going to do what NORAD and IDW's PIT City do and have buildings within a giant open cavern. I'm just not going to do it as big as IDW's PIT City since I don't want my Joe team that big. Started sketching out ideas and features tonight. Felt good to sketch, haven't done it in awhile.

Troynos, if you were to try and include the sub-teams in your HQ, how would you do it? Would you give them their own area or separate bases?

Tiger Force would have a seperate little base in Sierra Gordo. But since I did away with the Joe sub-teams and forming my own teams, the same thing would still apply. There'll be a small base in Sierra Gordo, Greenland and Trucial Abysmia. I'm still doing away with the fighter jets.

Bailey's Or Kingstown? I have not seen Wave 3 Collection 2 yet have you? At any rate to answer your other question about Kamakura. I just like the green I guess. If he's Blue I have to move him to an Urban team. I'll still get him, but the custome looked so good I couldn't say no.

Depends on which sub-team.

I'm still keeping the A-10s, because those are ground support figthers, not air-to-air like the Skystrikers and Conquest. I'll also be using alot of Skyhawks and Skysweepers. I like the idea of the smaller jets and VTOLs, it makes more sense for a rapid deployment force and allows the Joes to field some aircraft without having to worry about runways and control towers and that kind of thing.

How are you going to handle Cobra Fighter Jets - liquidators, Firebats, etc?
I've been thinking about PIT Commandos. It makes sense to me that Sgt. Stone would lead them. On the other hand, their equipment would support the notion that they are a part of Steel Brigade. Enter ROC (Wal-Mart) Gung-Ho. Gung-Ho is the Commander of Steel Brigade, according to the Convention Special figure. So, I've come back to the idea of ROC Gung-Ho leading a team of PIT Commandos, and Sgt. Stone acting as XO. Ideally, if I could get a total of 10 PIT Commandos, I could have Gung-Ho and Sgt. Stone lead that team... then they would be able to split into 2 teams of 6 if necessary. I plan on using the PIT Commandos as the main Special Ops Force for Urban Warfare, but unlike the rest of my Steel Brigade (who only deploy in urban environments) they could be deployed anywhere if necessary. They're experts in CQB, Recon, etc. They would work as any kind of Special Ops Unit, but they specialize in Urban combat. The ROC Gung-Ho's paint scheme fits in perfectly.

Rattlers are ground attack.
I figure Cobra doesn't have much in the way of air combat jets either. Why would they really need them?

Without Air Power, Cobra is really just a bunch of well armed thugs. I'm no expert on the use of Air Power, but my brother the former Air Force pilot could offer a dissertation on the necessity of air power in modern warfare.
