We would avoid parachuting in Arctic conditions. The winds are too fast and unpredictable. Cold affects the Instruments like the altimeters. Thin air. Hard to fly because aircraft does crazy things in those conditions. The SEALs that do it would probably be inserted by water. The Russian Spetnaz or Naval Spetnaz might be trained for it.

I don't know if there's a specific one. I suppose airborne-qualified elements of the 10th Mountain Division would count, but the 10th Mountain Division is pretty much a cold weather/mountain unit in name only... it's mostly been trained and utilized as a regular infantry division since the end of World War II.
If any Army unit is scheduled to deploy to an arctic/polar/alpine region though, its personnel can be sent to receive basic arctic individual training and cold weather survival instruction at the Army's Northern Warfare Training Center in Alaska or the USMC's Mountain Warfare Training Center in California, all at the operational commander's discretion, of course (and budget allowing). 10th Special Forces Group might be able to do it... maybe. They are Headquartered in Ft. Carson, Colorado... but that doesn't mean they're training for arctic conditions, especially jumping into that kind of environment.

Snake-Eyes probably enjoyed "Rocky & Bullwinkle" as a child... and I don't blame him. ;) I wish his figure came with the flying squirrel suit as an accessory.

Yeah, I really liked that idea of the Accelerator Suits/Super Troopers are Bat-Killer specialists. They make great "human tanks" for urban warfare... so using them with Steel Brigade makes a lot of sense. But there's a really strong argument for the idea that they may be the best answer the Joes have for a B.A.T. I really think the B.A.T.s should be really tough, almost like a Terminator.

10th Mountain Division undoubtedly has soldiers who are Airborne qualified, but none of them are on Jump status (eligible to Jump) because the 10th Mountain has NO Airborne capability, and therefore none of their soldiers' jump qualifications are current. It is possible that their Recon (LRSC) unit is an Airborne capable unit, but we're talking a Company sized element of light Infantry - that's it. And if the recon element is the only unit that can conduct an Arctic jump, they wouldn't do it - because they wouldn't be reconning anything valuable/actionable for the rest of the Division. They don't have the resources or mission statement for Airborne operations. They're a great Infantry Division. They're trained for Mountain Warfare. But they are not a unit with any Airborne Capability.

Now that would be cool to have and I wonder if anyone has attempted to make a custom for that yet!

Have y'all ever read the file card for the Ninja Force character: T'Gin-Zu? He's pretty much Storm Shadow's first apprentice before the Devil's Due stuff. He's a Master, so he's like Kamakura, only more advanced. Recently a Tanker did a custom of him. Really nice work, and the character needs updating to a decent uniform.
Honestly, after reading his file card, he reminds me of Tracker... great character, great qualifications, stupid costume. Check him out on yojoe.com YOJOE.COM | T'Gin-Zu Yojoe.com | T'Gin-Zu file card Check the file card out, and tell me what y'all think Ha, imagine that... a real post about a file card. Will wonders never cease?

I like the idea of him being a lifelong Arashikage student (20 years!), but I've never really liked any of the Ninja Force characters (design-wise or based on how they're characterized in the filecards) outside of Snake-Eyes, Storm-Shadow, and Scarlett. I think I should feel at least some very very minor offense at yet another pop culture appropriation and misrepresentation of Asian martial culture (the non-sensical codenames, the poorly researched weapons), although I don't really. I just think they look and sound stupid. I wouldn't mind any of those if the toys actually looked good or "played" well but they do neither. The costumes are too over the top, and the "action features" got in the way of posing. But filecard-wise, I think he's decent... better than most of the other cringe-worthy Ninja Force filecards (Dojo's was the worst... reading it again, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that he was the inspiration for Chris Farley's Beverly Hills Ninja ).
