I'd go Delta otherwise you only need like 13 members and thats it.
Where's the fun in that? No teams to set up no real command structure. Well that's half the fun for me. I just hit the Comstock load. I had $400 of BBTS pile of loot show up today. I don't know what to open first? It's been sitting there since March. Cobra Island sets. Wave 5 vehicles, Mars set, wave 3 with Helix and Hawk. and some sale stuff. |

I meant the level of covert, Delta level or IDW Joe level (having to be "dead").
Delta level can use the regular military and DoD support staff. IDW Joe level, you end up with PIT City and a support staff that is also "dead".

The biggest problem with the Joe support staff is how "covert" is your Joe unit? If they are on the level of Delta Force, can use the existing military support structure (like using the guys at McGuire AFB). If they are more top secret then that, then you need to fully Vet the support structure and the support teams become as top secret as the Joes themselves.

Right. Talking 1000+ people willing to "die".
And there's no way to hide that many deaths in the service, even during wartime. Especially where alot of those 1000 would be "desk jobs" and non-combat people. That's alot of training accidents.

So I've found a fairly easy way to help figure out what Joes I have to use and where.
Going thru and dividing 'em up by job and then can go thru and figure out how many fireteams I have, which ones make the most sense to go together and where to assign 'em.

If there is a Joe base on an island, you may want it to be earthquake proof and to hold up against tsunamis.
Would part of the cross training of the support staff to be to defend against attacks for outside forces? Last weekend or so a Blackhawk helicopter crash around Mt. Massive near Leadville,Colorado. I think the people on board were from Kentucky. |

For me I have a basic 7 group breakdown.
Armor/Cavalry(Fast Attack) under Flagg III Artillery/Anti-Aircraft under Hawk Infantry (Mechanized) Under Gen Rey Urban (Under Roughneck Bronze Bombers) HQ/Arctic/R&D (under Colton) Airborne/Airwing Support Under Raven (Hawk Ver 4) Naval/Jungle/Amphibious Assault (No Flagg) Under Keel-Haul I might switch it out for smaller teams that all have some Helicopter and Airplanes each so they can be spread out everywhere. But I have a Gen Hollingsworth and Austin and Flagg Sr, plus Payload and a Character I call Jackel who is a CIA director attached to the Joes. So a Dozen Joes who are 0-7 or Higher. Maybe 6 teams one Naval; Arctic; Desert; Airborne; Urban; and one more.... |

I think all the support Joes would be cross trained in base defense.
Any island would need to be earthquake proof, explosion proof and yeah, as tsunami proof as possible.

Here's something I noticed a few years ago but I only remembered now after working on the Monkeywrench image/file for my project. In the anarchist Dreadnok's 1986 filecard, it mentions that he enjoys listening to Tchaikovsky's and it also mentions that he was born on Guy Fawkes Day.
V for Vendetta, my favourite Alan Moore work, was being written as an infrequently released mini-series at the time (I think he was about two-thirds of the way through the narrative by 1986), The titular character, V, dresses up in a Guy Fawkes costume, and in one pivotal scene, blows up the London parliament buildings whilst listening to the 1812 Overture on a record player. Coincidence? Or was Hama inspired by the character of V (an advocate of anarchy) and used elements from the V for Vendetta comics to craft a background for Monkeywrench? |
