I'm also really excited about the Dr. Venom figure. My brother often says the Mindbender was just a poor man's Venom... he invented the Brainwave Scanner. Did Snake-Eyes ever hate anyone more than Dr. Venom?

So anyone see Cobra Shadow Tracker? It looks like a shout out to DDP Skullbuster, the only Cobra with Dreadloks. I'm liking his look with Zartan we may get a witch Doctor Team, if they come up with more.
That infiltrator Duke sort of reminds me of Eagle from the Action Force days. So many good new figures it's ridiculous. Off subject, but did y'all see the customs I posted about two pages ago? Any comments, gentlemen?

Sorry Oliver, those Heads look great like a real ODA team in afghanistan. No other joes coming up seem to match that pattern. I need to go back and look at the Ripcord, But the Footloose set doesn't.
Do you got codenames for these guys? You paint them yourself? |

I love those customs Oliver. I bought a few Desert Dukes to make some more desert guys but I'll just do head swaps.
What sort of paint apps did you use? They look very cool. I especially like the one with the beard and sunglasses. Is that a Torch Head? awesome |

Thanks guys. I hate to fish for compliments, but I've been working on those guys for a while, and I wanted to show them to y'all. They're nothing very fancy - just head repaints - but it was my first attempt to paint customs.
I painted them myself. The hardest part was finding heads that fit on the Desert Duke body... the assault vest with the Arabic scarf made it more difficult that I had anticipated. I used Torch's head - I just painted over his chin with a few coats and it made a pretty good looking beard. I made his headband desert camo. I used Outback, Wild Bill, and ROC Shipwreck. I also gave the Duke head some better sideburns. I just changed hair color and painted over any other weird/non tactical stuff. I added in a little gray just to give them some age... Delta guys are usually over 30 and some of the senior NCOs are easily close to 37 or 38. I used model paints from the hobbie store near where I work. Mostly Acrylics. I just layered a few colors for depth, variety, and thickness. They're not very fancy - not nearly as nice as the ODA Team will be - but it was fun to do it myself. And it will be cool to have an Delta Team for a desert mission. I plan on doing something similar when Jungle Assault Rip Cord comes out. His MARPAT (USMC) looking camo will make a great Force Recon Team... and I've got some spare heads to work with. I think Buzzer has potential to be a great looking operator.

Oliver, I like what you've done with the Desert Dukes. Those heads look great, the Wild Bill looks to me like Gary Oldman (one of my favorite actors). I love that Duke figure, my only complaint is the lack of ammo, grenades, etc. on his vest. I'm working on fixing that on mine.

That has been one of my complaints about the figure as well... that and the fact that he has no leg holsters for his pistol or for a knife. If he had a leg holster and sheath, he would me just about perfect in my opinion.

Guess I have my new Colton eventually. I use Colton as my commander of Joe Special Ops, so this is great. He can go on any mission. And I'm very excited about Dr. Venom. How great is that? I only wish we were getting Kwinn to go with him.

I'm going to be joining just for the AT sets, Dr. Venom and Big Lob.
I can't wait for those, just hope they aren't too expensive. Yeah, the Club is going to experience a surge in membership I think. I'm also excited about Joecon being in Rhode Island, that's driving distance for me. It's only about 3 hours from me. I am so going. No airfair means alot of money saved. If I wanted to put the miles on my car I could also think about driving down everyday and not getting a hotel. How bad is RI from Virginia? DC was a 10 hour (if i remember right from when I did it) drive. So RI would be about 7 hours?
