Here's my write-up of my revised Cobra and Coils Heirarchy:
Cobra History and Hierarchy: For centuries there’s been a secret organization running the wars and creating the map of the world. This society, called the Society of the Coiled Serpent, has created and stopped most of the wars throughout history. Their goals have always been to rearrange the world’s stage to fit their goals, wants and to create “better lives” for their members, personal power has been their pursuit and goal. Exact numbers of the Coiled Serpent were never known, but it’s a heralditary organization, once a family is in the Society they’re in for life. Some notable families have included: The McCullen Clan from Scotland, the Baron DeCobrays from ??????, the Vaughns, the Flaggs, the Abernathys and others. Rumors of the Society started to service at the time of the American Revolution. Prior to this they had been completely underground, barely whispers, but at the Revolution the name started to surface as they did one of their biggest moves on the world chess board ever. It was said that the Revolution was started by the Society and that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and others that signed the Declaration of Independence were members of the Society. The Revolution also caused a split within the membership of the Society. There were those that wanted to concentrate on the American Colonies and mold and shape the United States into their perfect country. Others wanted to concentrate on Europe and the many plans that had been in motion there and all the interests that were already in place. Two notable families left the Society at this time, the Abernathy’s and Flaggs. It’s not known the extent of the Society’s machinitions from that time to about 20 years ago. It was around 20 years ago that the Society’s “branches” had finally healed the rift and sat down to plot out the course of the world for decades to come. They had watched and studied and realized that politics alone didn’t shape the world today, it took physical power as well. But how to get that physical power? Up until now the Society had been pure economic and political. The McCullens had supplied arms, but not the physical aspects that ran the wars, they just helped push and prod. It was then that they received word of a movement within the United States. Fred Broca had been a successful used car salesman. He had spent time in the military, presumably in some kind of Special Forces unit as his military record was classified, it’s presumed that was where he met Vance Wingfield. Broca’s business had failed due to some government regulations and laws, at the same time his veteran brother was killed in a drunken car crash (caused by the brother, but Broca didn’t see it that way). In danger of losing his house Broca was getting desperate and had made some shady deals with some gangsters. It didn’t turn out that well for Broca. His wife left him and took their young son, William, with her. At his lowest Broca found a deep hatred for the government, any government. A deeply charismatic and motivated man, Broca blamed the government for all his loses and vowed to do something about it. Very smart, he studied up and came up with some loopholes and started a quick-rich pyramid scheme under a variety of different names, notably Arbco Products. It was at this time that he renewed his acquaintance with Vance Wingfield. Wingfield was a pure right-wing militia leader. His experiences had soured him to the government as well, but not being a businessman and being a purely military man, he started a militia. With Broca’s money and Wingfield’s milita they started to form their army. It was at this time the Society found the two men and with their backing and connections, the Cobra organization was formed. The Society hooked Cobra up with some of their connections, notably the MARS Corporation for the Cobra organizations weaponry and technology, as well as the Baroness Anastasia DeCobray who had started to develop her own terrorist connections after the violent death of her pacifist brother. Between all of the parties, Cobra quickly rose in the global terrorist picture. The Society had hoped they would have had the perfect figurehead to run the organization in Fred Broca, now called Cobra Commander. They found they had underestimated the man and his charisma and thrist for revenge and his desire for power of his own. Over the years, the Society lost more and more control over Cobra Commander and what was rapidly becoming his own organization. The Society was also losing their influence with members that were promienant in the Cobra organization. It was soon after the formation of Cobra and they started to become a world power, that a part of the Society’s past reared up in the present day. Long ago, at the time of the Revolution, two families had left the Society, the Abernathys and the Flaggs. Both those families started long and illustrious military careers, going from generation to generation. It was the present day members of those families, Gen. Lawerence Flagg and Col. Clayton Abernathy, formed a military unit whose task was to stop the Cobra organization. It’s not known if Flagg and Abernathy knew of the Society’s hands in Cobra but it’s most likely they did. The unit became known as G.I. Joe and foiled many of Cobra’s schemes. The Society tried to use their own members within the American Military, a group nicknamed the Jugglers, to try and stop G.I. Joe but to no avail, Flagg and Abernathy (now called Hawk) were always ahead of them. The Society didn’t know what to do . They were losing control. Cobra was spreading out into areas the Society hadn’t wished it to go. So they decided to stage a coup. They manipulated things to get a scientist into Cobra and waited until the scientist was in position. If they couldn’t find their perfect figurehead, they would create one. Dr. Mindbender approached and was able to convince Cobra Commander to initiate the Serpentor Project, using the DNA of histories greatest leaders to create the perfect soldier. And so Serpentor was born. Serpentor staged a couple of attempts to take over the Cobra organization, but the Commander was always able to slither his way back into control. Serpentor was well liked, had almost the same charisma as the Commander, but wasn’t out for personal power, he was entirely the Society’s creature. During one of the coups, Serpentor was thought killed. During this time, two more families left the Society. The latest Laird McCullen, called Destro, had seemed to be torn between his loyalties to the Society and to the Cobra Commander but in reality it was his love for the Baroness DeCobray that controlled his actions. Both Destro and the Baroness cut their ties with Cobra and the Society and went off on their own, forming their own unit called the Iron Grenadiers. He was revived years later by one of the Jugglers. Serpentor, with the aid of Zartan’s brother Zandar, staged his most successful coup and had control of the Cobra organization. With the aid of the Joe team, Cobra Commander was able to regain control and Serpentor escaped with those most loyal to him. It was decided, by the Society, that they would abandon Cobra and try again, this time building the organization around Serpentor and using Mindbender’s genetics instead of relying on other sources. They also didn’t have the MARS Corporation to buy weapons and technology from, at least not at a discount price anymore. And so the Coils was born, run by Serpentor with genetically engineered soldiers created by Dr. Mindbender. And now the world stands at the threshold, with 3 organizations vying for control: Cobra, the Coils and the Iron Grenadiers with rumors of another group emerging called the Red Shadows; and G.I. Joe the sole unit capable of standing in the way.

The RHINO is better than the ROCC though. It's a great vehicle with tons of playability. I'll never get a rampage. Oh well.

If they had shrink the sizes down so they weren't quite so big, the vehicle would be perfect. I also took the gun that is supposed to go on the left cockpit and put it on the side. Never liked the look with it on the front.

Dude Troynos. Love it! That is a very cool background story. They should of had you write the outline for ROC. Better than the warm turd they gave us. You totally summarize the essence of GIJoe.

My one complaint with the RHINO is that the weapons are too big. I didn't put the larger launcher that points backwards are the back, I put it on the side. But I don't like that I have to remove the two 3-pods to get the hatches open and maneveur 'em around so the helicopter can pop up.

I mounted the machine gun on the side, think it looks better there then in front of the cockpit.
Overall I like the RHINO, now I just gotta figure where to display it and who to man it.

Now to go thru and start assigning troops. The RoC Neo-Vipers will be Serpentor's troops. I'm glad I was able to find a use for Serpentor. I hate the character, but I think with this story I'll be able to at least stomach him, lol.

I have my forces split between the two.
Serpentor gets more of the elite forces and all the bio-engineered guys. Cobra Commander gets the guys in Blue more or less. It kind of depends on the sizes of the forces. I try to make them even. Serpentor gets: Aero-Vipers Astro-Vipers Star-Vipers Range-Vipers Sand-Vipers (Maybe) Hydro-Vipers NIght-Vipers CLAWS ROC Neo-Vipers Elite-Vipers Electric Eels Coil Troopers Coils (Motor-cycles) Motor-Vipers Jungle-Vipers Cyber-Vipers Mega-Vipers Swamp Rats Terra-Vipers Razor Troopers Sand-Scorpions Heavy-Water Track-Vipers Nitro-Vipers (Both kinds) WORMS Gyro-Vipers Sea-Slugs Sector-Vipers Python-Patrol Frag-Vipers HEAT-Vipers V2 Rock-Vipers BATS V3 V4 V5 Everyone else is under Cobra Commander |
