I'm trying to keep the unit small. It's supposed to be a self-supporting rapid interdiction force. I only have 2-4 tank crews, 2-4 artillery units. There are no fighter jets. The Air Force consists of SkyHawks and Skysweepers for the fighter craft. It's mostly transport and ground support. I do have an AC-130 for ground support. I do have a couple of A-10s for ground support. No Skystrikers or Conquests. There's alot of "unmanned" spots, meaning I don't have someone specific for it yet. The Delta teams are all manned but the Alpha has alot of holes. The base guards run 3 shifts and have some K9 attached. The mission control center runs 3 shifts and has analysts and communications people on all 3 shifts as well as a Mission Control Officer (someone with Hawk's authority that can give commands to the guys in the field). I tried to keep it "real" in terms of the support staff. This includes the mechanics, the guys that prep the planes, the base guards, the comm people, the mess hall people, the clerks (there's a finance, admin and quartermaster department), janitorial, etc.. So if Heavy Metal pulls "off mission duty" in the finance office, he's not the only one there. The base needs to run even if all the mission personal are "on mission". But by having him pull duty in the office, I don't need to have 2 non-mission personal, just need to have 1.

That's a big operation. Do you have all those figures?

Nope, not at all. Which is why there's so many "unmanned" spots.
There's only about 12 on the high-priority wish list. Maybe about 6 customs. RoC has really helped fill out the ranks, and hopefully will keep doing so. But there's alot of open spots. When I get home tonight, I'll post the document.

Wow I had no idea when I mentioned Steel Brigade and Supertroopers what you guys would cook up. I kind of see these guys leading teams of Steel Brigade troops. I don't really see the Super Troopers and Rapid Fire as a single James Bond on the Battle field. Too much like Sgt Slaughter in the Cartoons. But since they are all officers they should lead a platoon or team into a hairy Situation.
Imagine if at they Battle of Mogadishu there was a team of 20 Steel Brigaders under Rapid Fire to come bail you out instead of just 2? (I know they weren't sending in any more Blackhawks so this would never happen and the team sent in to retrieve everyone got a little lost and shot up.) Still that would have been the time to come send them in. You figure Super Trooper, Rapid-Fire, and the Steel Brigade Commander would all be similarly trained. Maybe Sigma 6 Lt. Stone, and Action Man might round out the officer core of this SB/ST/HRT/SWAT/CQB team? I would tend to leave the SWAT guys out but there seems to be such a natural tendancy to lump them together due to the Urban look, but then what makes Shockwave so great? |

There's Urban Combat (building to building, skyscraper to skyscraper, street to street) and then there's CBQ combat.
I see the Steel Brigade as being the Urban Combat unit, not nessecarily led by the Super Troopers (I'm still not sure if I want to incorporate them, beyond a "slimmed" down Rapid Fire, into my Joeverse, too "super", makes the other Joes kind of weaker in comparasion) and the SWAT unit being the CBQ (mostly concerned with HRT).

I'm doing pretty well now - I had knee surgery back in April after rupturing my left patellar tendon, which caused my kneecap to move up into my thigh.
I still have some restrictions on what I can and can't do, but I've regained most of my range of motion and we're working to get the strength back in physical therapy.

So here is my Joe Organizational list. It works alongside the base, if I ever get it done.
Any figure with a * next to their name is one I don't have but on the short list of ones to get. A ^ next to the name means they are primarily part of the Mission Teams and this is their "off-mission-duty" job. The customs and substitutions are listed next to the new name. The Steel Brigade are double edged as Security & a International Unit. The Joes use them to protect their assests, to augment their own Security teams (Base Protection) & send them overseas to assist foriegn nations.
I think it makes sense that Super Troopers lead these Units. Also would make sense that two of the canidates were British SAS officers with the unit being a International Unit. Sorry if this makes little sense I am in series need of slepp. LOL. |
