Loose-
Who is Mariner? I think I remember his name being mentioned before but he's not a character I'm familiar with. I really like Re-Bar. I think I will borrow that one for the Sea Bees and maybe Harpoon to complete my Seal roster. Re-Bar made me think of KA BAR the famous (infamous?) USMC knife which is good because I was short a name for my Marine squad and now the roster is full- Gung Ho Leatherneck Mainframe Slaughter Hollow Point & 3 originals- Bulldog, ACOG (spotter for HP) & now KA BAR. Thanks man- knew I could count on you guys to help me out. Last edited by Topside; 07-27-2009 at 11:42 PM.. |

The one and only appearance of Mariner (introduced along with Barrell Roll, Mayday and Vorona who all had more appearances and bigger roles; Depthcharge was there too but after an appearance in the next issue he disappeared. Hacker's only appearance as well I believe).
Zulu, I would do backflips from here to Canada if you included Barrell Roll and Mayday. In my Joeverse, they became the later version of Flint/Lady Jaye.

So I figured out how I can use the fighter pilots in my revamped air unit of the Joes (which doesn't include fighter crafts, just transport and the AC-130)....
Ace and Slipstream are now Skyhawk pilots. The Skyhawk works great as an escort vehicle and small attack craft.

I didn't think any one would recognize him. I always thought he looked like a cross between Al Pacino and Andy Garcia in that pic that I used.

Oh, and thanks for posting that pic. I've been searching for online images of Mayday & Mariner and I couldn't find any decent ones. Odd that Depth Charge is listed as a sergeant. Is the DDP version an Army engineer diver? A MARSOC combat diver? IIRC, the original 2003 toy was a SEAL. Hacker is a pretty lame codename for an info ops specialist. I don't think any self-respecting code cracker would actually use such a generic and unimaginative tag. Last edited by zuludelta; 07-28-2009 at 12:03 AM.. |
